Khabib retiring at his prime may sound crazy to everyone but every video I see of him interacting with random kids lets me know he made a great decision. His own children are going to benefit tremendously
They'd have benefited a lot more with the extra millions he'd have made with just a few more fights. Hell, ONE more fight to go 30-0 would have benefited his kids financially in a big way
@ikigai47 bruh...he got enough of money. You don't need all money in the world to live a good life, and your kids and grandkids having a good life too. All while being able to help his people and his homeland. There is something wrong with this insatiability with money, people think they can take it to the grave or what? Khabib on his own seems like a good guy, who doesn't need all this luxury stuff, yachts and mansions, cocaine, expensive alcohol and premium sluts. He doesn't use alcohol and drugs, he got wife and kids, his religion tells to be modest, so literally there is no way you can spend your money in your life with such lifestyle. At the same time, he has businesses, so his net worth only grows, i believe. So that extra fight was not necessary, at least not for the money reasons.
@@ikigai47 firstly money isn't everything, secondly he has more than enough money and makes it from sponsorships as well as investments. However, the most important lesson is that having money not only doesn't necessarily bring you happiness and can also be a negative for children. When you have that assurance that you're going to be alright, the motivation to work hard isn't as strong.
@PACIFICBboy it's definitely the right decision for him, the fans may disagree but fans have this weird obsession with wanting guys to keep fighting, then when you see a guy like Tony or Cerrone taking countless losses to end their career, it just leaves a stain on their legacy as well as their mental capacity....but fans don't care. I'm glad the guy retired on his own terms and unbelievable did so without bleeding during a fight, that **** is crazy
@@donaldkey9074 - I get your point but I never said money was "everything." That's a bumper sticker poor people use to feel better, not an argument. Money is however, something very important (sadly. that's just the world we live in) and if not for your kid's benefit, then for philanthropic reasons you can help so many people in his position. I hear ya on the kids / spoiled part, or it being tough to work hard when you're waking up in silk sheets, but Khabib is above that nonsense, unlike weaker minded guys like Conor. Taking just one more fight would have done so much good for him, his community, his legacy, etc. There were no down sides to it (other than, the possibility of losing)

It's interesting that mountains appear to be the most important and defining feature of the Caucasus and specifically Dagestan. I've seen Khabib and Islam and others several times not mention Dagestan but simply say that they're from the mountains. I've not seen that in other locations, where people might define themselves more by political culture, latitude, oceans, or other things. Like people from Switzerland or Nepal don't reference this as much.
