In case anyone is unfamiliar with the book itself, you may like to know that this is a shortened version of the book. Not everything is included - some excerpts here and there have been omitted, probably to be a more time-effective reading - but this is still the majority of the novel. In my opinion, every major plot point has been included, so nothing to worry about. :)
Chapter 1 00:00 Chapter 2 13:40 Chapter 3 27:20 Chapter 4 40:50 Chapter 5 47:00 Chapter 6 54:29 Chapter 7 1:08:05 Chapter 8 1:28:49 created through other people's time stamp, im not sure if they are correct. this is gonna be completed some day
i see everybody here saying theyre listening to this last minute bc they don't want to read the book for school, but I strongly, strongly and sincerely recommnend reading it. its a heart-wrenching story, you will get attached to the characters and feel for them. It also opens your eyes to the reality that ordinary people like you and me go through (or went through, since the book is set in the 1970s) in other parts of the world. The Kite Runner is full of emotions that will really just make you feel bittersweet and numb in the end. Please read along while listening to this audio, and please try to feel the book, not just get through it for a grade. Its very very worth it.
We read this my senior year (10 years ago) and this is the Only book I’ve remembered. It seriously changed the way I see things. I love when his father says there is only one sin in this world- stealing. He breaks down how every sin ties to stealing and that has always stuck with me. I was lucky enough to deploy to Kandahar Afghanistan 🇦🇫 in 2011-2012 and met so many of the locals and had naan with them and chai tea and much more. We spoiled each other and just their way of life was very humbling. I’m lucky to not have only learned from the bad but also the good experiences . ❤️
This is one of the most moving books I have ever read. It is beautifully written, the characters are brilliant and the plot arc is perfect. This is an epic story with a wonderful message.
I suggest you read *A thousand splendid suns* from the same author. Another gorgeous book that grabs your heart n take you to emotional rollercoaster ride.
It tears me up listening to this audiobook. I feel sorry for Hassan. He was an amazing person, so loyal and loving and understanding. I would hug him as a friend. I pray he had forgiven his dear friend and his half-brother he didn’t knew. I pray his soul is happy in heaven. I wish the story’s ending was a happy one, that Hassan and Amir reunited and became happy again, but it was not. I believe Amir asked forgiveness from the soul of his half-brother and forgave himself as well. I’m glad he was reunited with the son of Hassan. There’s a happy ending in that part. What a very emotional story. I was so moved.
Despite this audiobook being the 2 hour rundown of the main story I still cried like a *baby* during some parts of these chapters. Kind of wish I took the time to read the book but considering I have to finish it by tomorrow I'm still glad
Im from Afghanistan 🇦🇫 it was a lovely story and sad story but i love it thank you so much Mr Khaled hussaini that you showed the reality of Hazaras life in Afghanistan by this 📖 📕
Hello everyone, I don’t think this is the full audio book. It’s a shorter version, I believe all the chapters are there. But they’ve been shortened. The physical book is small, I have it, but not so small that you can read/listen to the whole thing in around 2 hours.
Shaking my head to the scholars that haven't read this story. I also hated reading and the dreaded book reports in grammar school. As an adult I cannot quench my thirst for discovering so much in print. Give it a try, if not now at least read to your kids when and if you are a parent. In old now so I really enjoy being read to...explains this audio book. Lol
It has everything you need. I annotated along with this audio after reading the book, and it doesn't feel like anything important is cut out, just descriptions, but those aren't necessary to the overall book
“Do you want me to run that kite for you?” His Adam’s apple rose and fell as he swallowed. The wind lifted his hair. I thought I saw him nod. “For you, a thousand times over,” I heard myself say. Then I turned and ran. It was only a smile, nothing more. It didn’t make everything all right. It didn’t make anything all right. Only a smile. A tiny thing. A leaf in the woods, shaking in the wake of a startled bird’s flight. But I’ll take it. With open arms. Because when spring comes, it melts the snow one flake at a time, and maybe I just witnessed the first flake melting. I ran. A grown man running with a swarm of screaming children. But I didn’t care. I ran with the wind blowing in my face, and a smile as wide as the Valley of Panjsher on my lips. I ran. My favorite part...
great audiobook but man i didn't know this was a summary 😭 listened to the whole thing wondering how it ended in just over 2 hours. I'll go back and read the book but I'm kinda bummed how i know the entire storyline now💀
When I was listening to this audio book so many emotions were going in me. With those characters I was experiencing their life.More than anything I'm thinking about Afghanistan.. Those people and those children... It's more depth full pain.. A pain of humanity..
This reading skips too much and all of the comments marked all of the chapters wrongly (for example 12:50 is really the start of chapter 5 while it's in the middle of chapter 1 according to the timestamps in the other comments). There's no way I can read along with this and get enough info for tests.
Chapter 1 00:00 Chapter 2 13:40 Chapter 3 27:20 Chapter 4 40:50 Chapter 5 47:00 Chapter 6 54:29 Chapter 7 1:08:05 Chapter 8 1:28:49 copying a comment so i can get to it easy
I have been meaning to read this book for a looooong time but due to busy schedule and other book priorities I literally forgot about it, many years past and then yesterday I was chatting with a colleague who happens to like reading books and recommended this to me and so began my search, then I came across its graphic novel, and today I listened to its audio, but I will definitely read the book of course. I can imagine myself in tears very very very soon. ❤
This movie was shot in Xinjiang, China. It’s really ironic that the United States bombed Afghanistan, but went to Xinjiang, which is considered racially persecuted, to shoot the movie.
I’m currently reading this book and was hoping to just follow along but ima just read the book because the audio skips parts and then goes back to them which is confusing because I’ve already read 6 chapters of the book
