I shade tears😭😭. I was born in a family of 12 children and am the last born.It was hard and made my sisters engage in prostitution in the name of getting money to put food in the table. All my brothers and sisters dropped out of school before even they reached class six. The village laughed at us because the only thing could afford was porridge at lunch and the same porridge at night. My father died later. My mother told me one thing.* My son just focus on education is the only way you can make this family proud.* Then I went to a certain principal I begged him to take me to school but I will be grazing his cows and other work. He agreed.Struggled up to now am High school teacher through my Mama's advice

I still remember how my mama never missed to come for my visiting days for the entire 4 years that I was in high school. During that period, she was ailing from Parkinson's disease but she still struggled and came regardless. Some days I almost gave up when it was almost approaching 5 pm and parents were supposed to exit the school compound, then voala! I'm informed that mama has come. During opening days, when going back to school, mama would summon me aside and hand over to me part of her little savings tied in a knot on her 'leso' telling me to add to the pocket money my old man had given me. When I object she would insist, saying "you need it more than I do". She would the utter the most genuine prayer I've ever heard in my life and release me with the words "Nyasaye mondo otayi" (May God guide you). Kama si maombi ya mama..... ! Mothers are special people who should live longer to enjoy the fruits of our success. Continue resting in peace mama. I miss you big time.
