I don't think Bo is quite there yet on standup, submission, and just all around MMA. But everybody needs to step back on Khamzat's dominance compared to Bo a second. Khamzat has ragdolled people, but not at 185 the same way. Bo wrestled right up against the world's best at 86 Kg out of college (190 lbs) and 97 Kg I thing...maybe 92 in a non-Olympic year. He's wasn't filled out, but he is a slightly big 185 pounder who has never lacked the strength to compete at or a little above his weight against the top wrestling the world has to offer. Khamzat has a wrestling base, but it peaked at Sweden champion for the most part. And it did not have the mat wrestling experience of collegiate that translates better to MMA. The wrestling foundation of Bo is CLEARLY ahead of anything Khamzat was able to accomplish. As a physical speciman, Bo is more impressive, which is rare with Khamzat. But he's trying to ride in the same waves as Khabib's crew, and he isn't quite that. So from a trajectory standpoint, Bo has upside that Khamzat does not. Bo is that GREAT wrestler learning BJJ and striking with hella instincts that Islam was talking about being something that would be good. Islam said he hasn't see that...in his weight class. But Bo is marching toward that and a good distance along the way to developing into a champion level fighter as long as he doesn't get rocked along the way. Stylistically, Khamzat doesn't match up great. He has to get tied up and manhandle his opponent, but that won't happen with Bo. If Bo gets a couple more years before fighting him, Khamzat won't last the distance. Right now, I do think it is too early. But Bo has a foundation that builds well. He isn't many years away. He's developed fairly well so far. He's probably a 3-5 fights from getting scary with the experience, learning, back to training with a gap, and back to the fighting...that is probably about right. He's dangerous between now and then as well, and his instincts may protect him against elite competition. IF he feels he has to change gears and go to the ground, there is nobody he can't take down at will in the UFC at his weight. NONE. As long as he doesn't get dropped in the process, that takedown is happening. And that is one of the first things a wrestler making a successful transition gets good at in terms of the striking threat while going in to tie up and take down people. Frankly, if he had to fight Khamzat now, that's what he would do. Khamzat would have to either keep distance or find a submission. For now, he might be able to. But not for long.

Right now even if Bo takes Hamzat down Bo don’t really know what to do with him there. Hamzat could finish Bo from the bottom, top, or standing.
