It will frankly be quicker in middleweight if he wants to take that chance. Welterweight is stacked asf. 3-4 different people want Usman and actually deserve to get him. If he goes to middleweight he can get Izzy in a year max. After cleaning out rhe division and doing what he did to Costa, who else can Izzy fight? I guess cannoier and maybe a Bobby knuckles rematch. Can't think of anything else.

@Özgür Aydın I was talking in terms of where he will get a title shot sooner but yeah. The better route is to certainly wait and have a go at WW. Problem is Usman is also an incredibly gifted and dominant fighter. Is he in the level of Izzy? Probably and if not only very few levels below. He's no scrub either. And the problem is you have Colby, Street Jesus, Burns, Edwards, too many people deserving of title shots already in WW. Khamzat will have to finish at least 1-2 of them to deserve a title shot.

I dont think he can fight in the top of middleweight division. Romero and costa and the top guys are way way bigger than him, and he probably fights at natural weight at middleweight

Yup, he made no attempt to block or counter the punch. Which was the very first thrown by khamzat, instead he actually looked away! That is child like, never trained before kind of fear. A referee is actually supposed to stop a fight in such cases where a fighter is looking away instead of "intelligently defending themselves".

There is never much to ask these fighters really. They all say about the same thing. "I don't care. I like to hurt people. Give me more money and fights. I can fight another ten guys today. blah blah blah." The interviewers usually do a good job trying to extract any sort of personality out of these warriors. Charm is rarely their strong suits. That's why Conor became a mega star. He genuinely did have a way with words. A rare breed in the fight game.

Harsh lives produce hardy people. It doesn't get much harder than life in Chechenya, as a people bearing a history of persecution, war and genocide. You can't really be surprised that those Caucasian lands within the Russian Federation are producing some of the toughest warriors. If you survived their early lives, the UFC feels like a holiday.
