Fun fact, Arabic is one of the few modern languages that use only 3 vowels: a, i, and u (ahh, eeh, ooh). There's also the long version, but it's the same vowel sound. English, by contrast, has 14-17 depending on dialect (e.g. bat, bet, bit, bot, butt, bait, beat, bite, boot, bout, butte, boy, balm, bart, bert, bear, bore, put could all have different vowel sounds, though in some dialects they may have the same sound)
