Not SS amps, they are hybrid.

Together with the Marten, among the most transparent speakers....

Sounds damn good to me even through the camera mic. Very realistic tone to the instruments. Would love to hear piano on this system (wasn't really impressed by the earlier mega expensive chord setup playing the piano music) And of course those plastic cable feet make all the difference HoHoHo. If all Lamm amps sound this good I'm impressed.

Those Kharma speakers look gorgeous

Eton always sound nice with instrument timbre, paired with an excellent mid and high driver, it became one of the best speaker for realistic reproduction.

+Wayne Feker Scanspeak subwoofer are softer, much gentle and hit lower note compare to Eton, but Eton subwoofer sound tighter, sharper and higher resolution.

+Wayne Feker Eton subwoofer need high power and long period of time to run-in to get smoother and deeper low, brand new out of the box sound pretty much disappointed. scanspeak subwoofer is much lower and warmer, but Eton bass is fast and sharp, sound more realistic and timbre compare to scanspeak.

+Wayne Feker I do car audio custom installation, I've a testing room to study equipment. My customers bring in various brand of speaker drivers for testing and comparison. We use both home and car audio drivers in the setup. We've tested many quality high end stuff too, but frankly I've never tried diamond tweeter before. Eton and Accuton has similar characteristics, it should sound good when paired together. BTW eton release new series call Arcosia, much more expensive, magnesium composite cone.

+Wayne Feker you know diamond tweeter is not that affordable, maybe one day I can get one for testing...

This system appears to bring out the weight of an instrument, along with its characteristic resonance in great detail. The speakers appear to have a great robust and rich sound stage with a lot of reserve should the performance have need of that reserve. Perhaps the microphone of the camera is sometimes overwhelmed in its reproduction (sometimes on other videos it distorts in the high frequencies), but there is enough truth of the performance coming through RU-vid to differentiate sound clarification between systems.

A few months back I was at an audio show and had a chance to hear the Raidho D5 and I have to say they sound better than the Kharma do now. Of course the music was not the same as Peter played, but the amount of detail of the Raidho's was 10 times what these speakers have!

If you're looking for "detail" and you judge systems on "detail" you must be a noob and also failed to understand completely what music reproduction is all about. "Detail" is just pushed treble....in fact I can make a 300$ speaker sound "better" than a 5000 $ speaker (for amateurs ears at least) just by simply pushing the Treble knob at +5 or something LOL To make you understand better the concept.....I take 2 photos...1 with a 5000$ Dslr camera one with a cheap P&S camera. I oversharpen the cheap camera photo in Photoshop and ooooh it looks so much more detailed, thus better! it's not.

can u guys play a normal cd that's available for the general public to buy like rock, reggae, country, heavy metal. Not the specially recorded demo music. I bet all this hi end kit will sound the same.

+ramro keto Thanks for your comment! We are restricted by copyright laws and this limits the music we can use on our videos on RU-vid. However, we are continually working toward building a catalog of approved music that is well recorded.

Can I ask a genuine, non-troll question? When it comes to super high end hifi, are the buyers genuinely trying to find the best equipment so they can enjoy their favourite music to the full, or are they just as much buying it to appreciate the actual equipment and engineering? I think either option is valid actually, but as someone with an interest in hifi (low end) and music, I would rather hear my favourite songs on a tranny radio than music I don't particularly like on a £100k rig. (Point being that my enjoyment is far more about the music than the quality of reproduction, even though I love hearing great tunes on great rigs) Is it like amateur cooks buying £2k custom damascus chef's knives because they like the object more than it's abilities?

That's a very legitimate question. I can speak from personal experience having worked my way up to a +10 k system (B&W CM5 s2...Rega RP8 table...Rega Aria phono.....Oppo Bdp-103 player, B&W sub, CA amp and so on). Vast majority of audiophiles I meet at hi-fi stores or audio shows love their collection of music and want to hear it in an ever better system. That's "our drive". Sure as we go along we also develop a taste in "audiophile" recordings that the general public hates but all of us still listen popular music as long as it's well recorded (Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Bob Marley, jazz and so on). Hope this helps.

That is helpful, thanks. My kit is rega, project and monitor audio, some bought at a discount. It's a great set up but it's not 50k speakers and £800/m cable and the like. When I was buying various bits I did get better and better at hearing the differences, so I suppose the folks who buy audiophile kit are very finely attuned to the subtleties. That said I can't help but feel there's an emperor's new clothes aura to some of it. There's nothing wrong with that especially because this is such a niche market it's kept within the inner sanctum, as it were. I'm interested to know what you mean by audiophile recordings. Is this material recorded specifically to test systems, or just music that is so complex, which tests a systems capabilities, that it becomes virtually unlistenable to the layman? Can you name any for me to listen to? Thanks for the reply.

yaisum Audiophile recordings can be from every music genre (soul, rock, pop, classical, acoustic, dance) it's just well recorded/well mastered music. Some are well known some less, some known only in the audiophile circles like this Fernandez album that AVshowrooms plays on their videos. Some "audiophile" albums: Pink Floyd "Dark side of the Moon", "The wall", "Wish you were here" albums. Norah Jones 1st two albums. Gregory Porter "Liquid Spirit" album Dire Straits "Brothers in arms" Ray LaMontagne "God willin' and the creek won't rise" album The Eagles "Hotel California" album Daft Punk "RAM" LP Supertramp "Crime of the century" album Miles Davis albums John Coltrane albums Getz/Gilberto album (Sacd or Lp) Diana Krall albums Stacey Kent "Let yourself go" album Getz Au Go Go album Ella Fitzgerald/Louis Armstrong "Ella&Louis again" LP Fleetwood Mac "Rumors" and "Fleetwood Mac" albums The Dave Brubeck Quartet "Time Out" album Sade "Promise" and "Diamond Life" Florence and the Machine Live Unplugged dvd/cd Astrud Gilberto albums and so on. Hope this helps.

I'm pleased to see a few albums I own on this list. Rumours in particular is a favourite both for content and the way it sounds: It's a wonderful recording. I was worried that you were just going to list a bunch of Ligeti and Stockhausen performances! Some of Richard Thompson's records are also well worth a listen both for content and quality. If you haven't already, find a copy of 'Old Kit Bag' and see what you think. I think it's a gem.

"No solid state amplifier that sounds this good" As if tubes exclusively sound better. I prefer solid state over tubes most of the time depending on application. In otherwords I prefer a Lamborghini Aventador and the like anytime over a Bentley Arnage and the like.

+Beyond 1000. "As if tubes exclusively sound better." - That's not what he meant to say. Fact is, some characteristics of tube sound are simply closer to real sound, and majority of solid state doesn't replicate that. Your brain is used to listening to real sounds, and tubes produce a sound closer to what you're used to hearing. That's just a fact. If you want to know more, you're gonna need to go into a bit of detail in neurophysiology of hearing. I'm lucky enough to have both a medical degree and an engineering one, so it's quite obvious to me, from both perspectives, why good tubes produce a sound that is more satisfying and "real" sounding. Another fact is that a lot of tubes out there on the market are bad, and there are very few really good tube amps. Others aren't anywhere near showing the true potential of that technology. On the other hand, it's pretty easy and cheap to design a solid state amp that will be technically good and sound decent nowadays because the parts involved in making it are fairly cheap and mass produced. .
