A squadron of USAAF Northrop P-61C-1 'Black Widow' night fighters are scrambling to intercept a group of Japanese Mitsubishi G4M1 'Betty' bombers coming in from Guam to strike the Marines fighting on Saipan. Using their new radar systems, the night fighters should have the upper hand against the unescorted Betty's. Just incase, the US Navy is going to provide two squadrons of Hellcats on standby over Southern Saipan. The intercept should take place just South of Tinian, where a moderate sized Japanese naval contingent has begun to form to defend the southern island.
