You are on to something. Indo-European languages its all debatable. For me there's a deep connection between French and Farsi. Farsi speakers have a much easier time with French. I do not agree that Germanic or Slavic languages are IndoEuropean. Very debatable to me. I see German and Slavic as eastern languages belonging to the Uralic language family. Modern German and Russian have been dominated and Romanticized over hundreds of years to sound more western and to whitewash history and origin stories. I also noticed Turkic (Altaic Language Family) have a much easier time with German and Russian. And realized how much they had intermingled in central Asia and Caucausus before moving into western europe and settling and mixing language and cultures.
I don’t care what they say about Iran in the media, I don’t care about differences in religion and culture, I just know that Persian culture and Iranian and Persian people are amaizing generous have an amaizing culture all the planet should discover. Love your language, architecture, food and music. Love and respect from a Tunisian 🇹🇳 in France 🇫🇷

ٍEnglish translation of this song. hope you like it: ( song name: khooneye maa = our home) Our home is far, far away It’s behind tolerant mountains Behind golden fields; behind an empty desert That’s our home on the other side of water; the other side of impatient waves Behind the pine-tree forest; it’s in a fantasy, in a dream Behind a blue ocean; behind pear-gardens The other side of vineyards; behind the beehives Our home is behind the clouds; the other side of our loneliness It is at the end of the wet roads; behind the rain and behind the sea Our home has stories; it has pistachios and cherries Behind its warm smiles; it has tiered people Our home has happiness; and has colorful fish in its pond In its front alley it has playing ball; it has pretty cats Our home, warm and friendly; on its walls, old photos The photo of playing on the porch; on the beach on summer time Our photos under the rain; with suitcase in hand and feeling of resentment , going away, far away from nice and kind people . ..
+Kianoosh Ameri thanks a lot for your nice words as the translation of this song. one of my foreign friends just loved this song and liked very much your translation and was so happy to find it. Thank you! :)
you are very welcome. now that i am reading it again i see that the translation could have been better and has few mistakes. i heard the song once and very quickly translated it. glad you or your friend liked it.
+Kianoosh Ameri Thanks Kianoosh. As a persian guy who moved here very young I had a hard time understanding the meaning of some of the words, thank you so much. Have you done this for other songs? This helps my farsi. Great job and thank you for taking time to do this.
+Nima Nikaiyn you are very welcome. I just liked this song so i decided to translate it, that is all. I have not done that with any other song. If there is another Persian song which you are interested in, send the link and if it touches me as much as this song, i will translate it for you.
+Kianoosh Ameri The next song in the playlist from Ali Azimi - Pishdaramad is another song that is great, I can't make out some of the tough words. Thanks again!
I don't know why this music hit me where I can't stop crying. Some memory I can't recall perhaps but this is so powerful that brings the memory to my eyes. Thank you for this feeling.
This song touches the soul, I don't know and understand persian language but when heard a persian song it impresses to me so much. A song has with a free spirit.

Ehsan Kamali, you are right, however internationally, people know it as Farsi or Persian. Parsi is the correct term used often in Persian literature to refer to the language.
Marja'n jun, one word : fantastic. I am 68 year old Iranian Californian , brought tears to my eyes. I wish this great song was there when I was a child. I wish this was available when my children growing up. I will find Marja'n's entire album for my grand children and their school. I truly missed the Dama'vand mountain as a child i used to check it out every day going to school. Its grandeur gave me good feeling. specially in winter it was completely covered with snow. 55 years ago there was no air pollution , it was visible every day , almost. I speak limited Turkce , and reading comments i see greetings from all over the world. With special resonance in country of Turkey. Well , Persian was the literature language in Turkey until 1920. In India until 1850. I thought Persian poetry and language is good sounding language. Reading many comments, it was confirmed by several from all over the world. greetings and best wishes from California.
قطار میرود تو میروی تمام ایستگاه میرود و من چه ساده که سالهای سال در انتظار این قطار رفته به نردههای این ایستگاه رفته تکیه دادهام....قطار میرود تو میروی تمام ایستگاه میرود....
There's more than 6 years since my first visit when i feel in love with Iran. I've spent totally almost a whole year in your country and it changed me that much so i feel there more native than in my own country. Since the very beginning i started to learn Farsi (Persian and French are the most beautiful languages!) to talk to people and to be able to share my love in return. Because your people are the main treasure of Iran. Always miss and can't wait for my new visit. This song really reflect how i feel about Iran being outside. Freedom to amazingly brave and strong people of Iran! Freedom and happiness, you deserve it!
I still remember Heraat from 55 years ago. I remember the taste of grape, Cheese and bread. Your last name indicates , at least your parents are from Heraat. Love Afghanistan From Iran/ California.
I love afgani people and get so sad when I hear my people mocking them, and I imagine the long, hard way they have come for a new opportunity in not such a great country and we are still mocking them. I love afganistan From iran
Yes No Maybe Wow, thats pretty cool! And yes dude, they are originally Georgian & proud of it. Georgians have played a brilliant role in the history of Isfahan city, as the most famous bridge of Iran "33 pol" is made by the cooperation of a Georgian architect named AllahVerdi Khan Ondiladze. His statue is placed by the bridge.

I extremely agree,,, how come for any body to dislike such incredible song and music.... when I listen to Iranian music and song I feel as I am in another world other than ours.... Amir (from US)
Our home is far far away, behind the patient mountains Behind the golden plains Behind the empty deserts It's our home, beyond the waters Beyond the eager waves Behind the cypress forests In an illusion, in a dream Behind the blue ocean Behind the pear trees Beyond the grape gardens Behind the bee hives Our home is behind the clouds Is beyond our melancholy At the end of wet paths Behind the rain behind the sea Our home has tales Has sour cherry, has pistachios Behind its warm smiles It has tired people Our home has joy Has fish in its pools Its alleys has ball playing Has cute cats Our home, warm and intimate Old pictures on its walls Picture of playing in balcony, at the beach in summer Picture of that day, under the rain with a choking sob and a suit case Leaving behind lovely and kind people... Our home is far far away, behind the patient mountains Behind the golden plains Behind the empty deserts It's our home, beyond the waters Beyond the eager waves Behind the Cypress Forests In an illusion, in a dream.
While I don't understand Persian, I was truly taken by the melody, rhythm and the voice of Marjan. The images expressed a loss of a house and the translation provided by Kianoosh below confirmed that impression. Here is a poem I wrote which capture the sense of loss and longing I felt while listening to this beautiful song. This is by no means a translation of the lyrics, but a modest tribute to the expressive power of this song and to Marjan Farsad's talent. Beyond an ocean of mist-laden waves Beyond heart-warming golden shores Away from wartorn desolate graves Stand our home's welcoming doors Green doors embracing a quiet meadow Where mothers sing rose-fragrant lullabies Til the silver moon casts a joyful shadow Free of the bittersweet song of goodbyes In mango-laden orchards of sweetest love In tender light lit by a tender silent gaze When the sun streaks the heavens above recedes our deserted home into the haze Into the mist that slowly blankets my remembrance Where My childhood's home becomes an Eden lost Of joyful celebrations I seek now in every dance But where I fade gently into an anonymous ghost That floats and lands before a shuttered door In a meadow where once flourished my childhood Filled with loved ones who departed this shore When they left the meadow where my home once stood The gentle meadow where my joyful home once stood Michael Joseph Murano Author of the Epic of Ahiram
I think this music has turned art into a miracle. Iran is one of the best places in the world, unfortunately many of my dear compatriots have left this country. There is a unique pain and pleasure in this song. This song refers to the beautiful memories of life in Iran and the painful moments of leaving the homeland.
She's just captured the childhood in Iran with words and also the graphics... how what you knew interrupted not just with growing older and change of life around you but especially with immigration, from the perspective of a child who now remembers everything that once was joyful, warm bright and simply was "our home".

Every time I listened to this song and watch this video, I just can't help tearing. It gives me a mixed feeling of beauty yet sadness, loneliness yet warmth. Love from China.

Give yourself lots of praise. True sensitivity. There is a fair amount of Iranian/ Uyghur cultural Commonality in Xin Jiang, in West of the great China. Greetings from Iran/California.
I from Georgia. I adore the Persian culture and language. The Georgian art and literature by much it is obliged to you (though there was also something unpleasant between our countries :) ). And this girl - super!
Don't worry, Azerbaijani and Kurdish women won't bow their heads to these bastards. Its very difficult for govt officials to enter some areas in Azerbaijani Provinces and Kurdistan. Tabriz put up the biggest resistance to Khomeini's take over, but CIA sent Navy general Heuyser to hand over USA MADE Iranian military over to Khomeini faction. After that, Khomeini, teased Saddam into a war and began a massacre and exile campaign against all his political foes. It was worst in Azerbaijani Provinces and Kurdistan Province. This time, he was ordained by god in his deranged mind. scary stuff! A sociopath in charge! Brough to you by Tehran's largest daily, Keyhan, a division of the CIA. Millions of Azerbijanis and Kurds were burtally murdered by Shah's Cossaks and Russian and British armies. I just wish the Kurds could have their own country. There was a time, you had to give your baby a "farsi" name to protect them from being targeted and scrutinized. Let's hope we don't go back to 1939. a lot of our parents grew up hating their names.
@@joeschmow4568 Where did you get your history from? This is such an amazing account of falsehood. All Iranians have suffered under the current regime not just the Kurds and Azeris. You assert millions of Kurds and Azeris died when in fact that would have completely wiped out the entire population. Please don’t exaggerate and keep to the narrative. The Shah gave political asylum to more than 200,000 Iraqi Kurds in 1972, he also fought bravely along the side of brave Azeris to push the Russians out of Iran. Please do not make false narratives to further your dreams of annexing Azerbaijan and Kurdistan. That will never happen. The Shah was a benevolent king who loved his country and his people no matter what part of Iran they represented.
When My baby boy was just 2 months old he listens and smiles and even start to making sound with this song and with this songs he never cried because whenever he wasn’t ok I just played marjan for him and his mood changed .he is 2 years old now and he likes this song and he goes to sleep with…
I fell in love this song I think! I do not know Persian language but the music, rhythm and the tone of the singer is magical! After I saw English translation of the song, I had fallen in love for the second time. Love from Istanbul.
Persian is the sweetest language in the world. My dad knows that and i'm soo sorry that he didn't teach me this amazing language all along. At first I didn't understand all lyrics, but when i saw translation of lyrics i couldn't save my tears. I support&love this guys:)
