try and place your camera in-between your alloy spokes and take a photo, should see how much meat you have on them. or there might be a cut out in the caliper which you'd be able to see pad material.
Hi unfortunately not you will need the rewind tool like Ryte life had. The rear pistons have to be turned like a screw and wound back in. Hope this helped
Another method that works nicely is levering two spanners between your old pads. Using the wind back tool seemed like a lot of faff where it's not needed.
