Thanks for the video, well done. FWIW the housing around the rearview mirror can be removed by using a trim tool to drop the front straight down, then pulling the housing forward toward the windshield - not down - and it will release. There are "normal" retainer clips on either side of the front of the housing and two "L" shaped clips to the rear (cabin side). If you try to pull the rear straight down it will break the angled clips. Hope that helps anyone that follows!
Thank you very much for this video, I have watched countless RU-vid tutorials on hardwiring the Blackvue Dashcam but all have fallen short with the details about the correct use of which fuses to use and which orientation to face the fuse tap. This is by far the most detailed and useful video instruction I have seen. I am trying to install the same dashcam for a Kia Seltos and you've ticked all the boxes thank you.
I have an update from the official dealer in regard to the fuse I should have chosen. Although the fuse I selected will work fine, the auxiliary battery will run down quicker. I will send an update in the next few days... not a matter of urgency - just a better fuse slot for less drain on the battery.
Ok, I've fitted my Nextbase 622GW front and rear cameras and I absolutely couldn't have done it without this video. It all went very well having seen how it was done. As I said below, I probably wouldn't have had the confidence to pull on the trim nor did I know that weather seals were so easy to remove! Once again, thank you so much for doing this and sharing with us.
Thank you so much for this very detailed tutorial. It has been indispensable as I start my fitting of the Nextbase 622GW to my new EV6. I never really know how much to pull on a trim panel without seeing someone else do it first. I also wouldn't have dared removing the weather seals without seeing that, so great work, you make it look easy 🙂
Yes, I saw that. Glad it all went well and thanks for the Coffee. I'm still adjusting the sensitivity of the cameras. I think I'm getting close to perfecting it.
Great video, very clear information. Getting my EV6 next week and fitting one of these Blackvue Dashcams ASAP. So couldn’t of timed better these videos👍 Other video related to the firmware and micro SD cards should also prove useful👍
Excellent. Thank you. I’m getting a Genesis GV60 next week so hopefully the installation will be very similar. Also helps that you also have a right hand drive vehicle. Consider getting an Endurance memory card. They’re specifically designed for constant recording.
Thank you for the job Done. Everything is so clear. Watching from Uganda East Africa. Could you please do more videos of dashcam battery hard wiring installation especially blackvue power magic pro ultra and Blackboxmycar powercell 8
Very well done video. I am curious what kind of power draw the camera does to the EV’s battery. I’ll have to rewatch your video to see if you mentioned this.
I have an update from the official dealer in regard to the fuse I should have chosen. Although the fuse I selected will work fine, the auxiliary battery will run down quicker. I worked in the automotive industry for years as an engineer, but I have to be honest, these days I would be too scared to get as invasive with a modern vehicle as you did here. I have an EV6 arriving soon though, so maybe I'll regain some courage as it really ought to have a dashcam!
a recording problem started appearing a few days after installing the BlackVue DR900X-2CH Plus camera, as it started not recording continuously during the parking mode, even though I chose continuous recording ! I thought it was because I was using a 32GB SD card, so I bought a 256GB SD card, but the problem persisted. then I discovered that the recording interruption was caused by the dash cam draining the car battery even though the car battery is new as I installed it less than two weeks ago ! that is why I advise everyone to buy one of the Blackvue Power Magic batteries to protect the car battery and get the most out of the dash cam.
My only question is, why would you bother with all of this when FitCamX takes about 3 minutes to install and works a treat! Is the BlackVue that much "better" to make it worth the effort? I won't even talk about the pricing difference
That's because the video is about BlackVue dashcam and not FitCamX. It was my preference to install this camera. If you wanted a tutorial video on FitCamX, why did you even bother to watch one on FitCamX?
I don't like that dash cam because of used a smartphone charging all time and the battery will be swollen and i also i don'tlike to disconected from the charger everytime when the battery level get 100%
