Incase yall are wondering, the key DOES NOT need to be reprogrammed after a battery swap. Just dont push ANY buttons on the key fob with the battery out.

Wife got a rental yesterday and she noticed her keyfob was working intermetetly. I told her it sounds like the battery is dead, we'll deal with it tomorrow. Sure enough. After watching this video, getting the unit open. The battery was as dead as a doornail. Thank you for sharing this video, came in handy for me. I am waiting to get a battery. And some one said something about not pushing buttons while the battery is out. Um, battery has nothing to do with the hard coded programming of the transponder and if a battery goes completely dead is the same thing as not having battery, so when you push the buttons and it doesn't work is the same thing. So do not worry about pushing buttons without a battery.

Great Video! Thank you! Why on Earth would KIA make you need a screw driver to change a battery? That sucks if you have a spare battery and no screw driver handy. Neither my Chevy or Honda require a screwdriver.

Holy cow this is how they get away with charging you for battery replacement huh my 08 you just pop your key in the side and boom pop the old one out new one in, my girlfriend has a 2020 Kia forte I didn’t imagine I would be watching a key fob battery replacement video but anyhoo thanks for the great video!
