My daughter's 2013 Kia Optima got a P0017 code. I checked/cleaned the VVT solenoid and wiring. Checked the exhaust camshaft sensor and wiring. Checked the crankshaft sensor and wiring. All good. The car would still start but immediately die. She mentioned that she was burning through a lot of oil. Watched the video on the PCV valve and replaced it. The car runs normal again with no check engine light. I checked it with the code reader several times after multiple drives and the P0017 still came up on it, but no light on the dash. My next step would have been checking the timing marks and going from there. Not sure what the PCV valve changed. Great videos, very helpful!
