thanks to DIY Dave I saw his video on his Toyota Corolla burning oil and he did the Berryman B12 chem tools upper cylinder cleaning overnight and it helped him. I did this as well and it worked. this is a common problem with GDI engines and some others. I commonly do my oil changes 5000 miles and I'm all highway but they still happen.

158k miles on my 2015 soul 2l, just purchased a few months ago, changed spark plugs and coils, and oil, notice the crazy oil consumption, changed pcv and it stopped the oil consumption. Update! Still consuming but not as much, switched oil to 10w30 and added stp high mileage additive, so far so good, will update in a month or 2

how is it today? u tried soaking up the piston rings? they produce oil consumption

I have a KIA oil burner 69K that dealer did a 2nd piston soak. I have about 200 miles before they check result. These piston soaks work if done due to stuck oil rings.

Check the oil pressure sensor located above filter, easy repair. Mine was leaking. Replace pvc valve. Easy, both cheap.

Nope not on all. Dirty valves clogging up the oil rings.

if you plug the intake connections to the intake manifold, and run both of your pcv lines to that catch can you won't get dirty valves. Just remember your can needs to have a vent to atmosphere air filter and your intake system needs to be capped off so it doesn't get any vacuum leaks.

The catch can has done a great job on keeping the intake valves cleaner

@@sweetpigfarm3645 I just say this as the pcv connected to the intake is not required and is the source of the intake valve problem. With no connection there are no valve problems.

Hi! I really had hard time to focus and understand what you were explaining exactly. Is it possible that you can describe it step by step what you did? i have a 2013 Kia Sportage 1.6 GDI engine.
