I have a 1997 Sephia LS with the BP 1.8 liter DOHC engine and the 5 speed standard transmission. Still running till this day with over half a million miles, and I still drive it. Not only is it an amazing car, but it was My first car that I learned to drive with. I'm still driving in 20 years and over 380,000 miles later... Miles not kilometers. Why get a new car when it's still running like a clock and doesn't even burn a drop of oil. Look out million miles, here I come.

I have a tan 97 LS Sephia with the 1.8 engine and the 5 speed. I replaced the original clutch at 293,000 miles, and I've driven it more than another 250,000. I still drive it till this day, with over half a million miles. Not only did I learn to drive and get my license in that car, but I also taught more than a dozen people how to drive a stick. All on the original clutch. I'm still driving in till this day with more than 540,000 miles on it, and it still doesn't burn a drop of oil. That's actually the same Mazda BP 1.8 DOHC engine used in the Mazda Miata. It's a phenomenal engine that can pretty much run forever if you change the oil and take care of it. I definitely love that car. I personally do most of the work myself, the clutch, timing belts, and motor mounts were all done at home in my front yard with jack stands. No power tools were used whatsoever. It's very simple and easy to fix, but also very reliable due in part to it's simplicity. The 97 Sephia was from a time before Kia became a part of Hyundai.
