Kia Sonet has finally made its global debut in India. And we were fortunate to be the first ones to check out the Korean carmaker's first ever sub-4 metre compact SUV. Set to take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300, the Sonet is among the most feature-loaded vehicles in its class. It gets 6 airbags, ABS + EBD, ESC, Brake Assist, Hill Launch Assist, ventilated seats, 10.25-inch touchscreen display with connected car tech, air-purifier, leather seats, and several other features. The vehicle will get multiple engine and transmission options - a 1.2-litre petrol with a 5-speed manual, a 1.0-litre turbo (TGDI) with a 7-speed DCT, 6-speed manual and 6-speed iMT, and a 1.5-litre diesel with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter. The Sonet will be launched right ahead of this year's festive season, and we expect its prices to start from Rs 8 lakh, while the top-end variant might cost Rs 11.5 lakh.
