Today, the guys are getting into a fan favourite - the Kia Stinger. With a 3.3 litre V6 engine under the hood, and plenty of practicality in the cabin and boot, there’s a lot Singaporeans love about the Stinger. Will our resident boy racer Julian like it? One small correction, the Stinger belongs to Category B COE and not Category A. Thanks for watching, friends!

No ZF8, but Hyundai supplied 8 speeder. Also, 3.3 was never 180ish thousand.

The name Kia Stinger, it rings a bell. Why? By the looks of it and the performance of it, it’s like mashing up a NSX and a M4 together. Simply exhilarating. It blows me away. 10 stars no doubt. Huge shoutout to James and Julian. I just have one word to describe it : Impressive.

Great car indeed, I have a neighbour who bought this car, 2.0 litre, with special 'E' logo badge and Stinger wording at the rear, is customisable I think. It definitely daringly stands out of the German brand crowds.

As usual from a Korean car brand (Hyundai's Subsidiary). I used to drive a rented Hyundai i30 HB overseas and was pleasantly surprised by how many features there are in the car (interior), like what James said "getting so much car for the price". Albeit the steering is a stark world difference from continental's counterpart (comparing to the German Mercs and British Jags as they're the only one we've bought). Glad Julian answered the question on the steering feel when James posed the question - I'm so curious about it whenever I see a Stinger on the road. Thanks for the great video as always (and the orange is really "weird" as Julian pointed out).

Previous episode - bottom shaved. This episode - bottom half shaved. Hahaha I believe it's called Flat Bottom or D-Cut steering. Anyway, great review as usual!

Short people like us, are smart Julian... It's a definite buy, one of the best car designed by KIA in the way it looks, performs or reliability. For that price point, GT package of 3.3 V6 with ZF 8HP gearbox is one of the best. Because real driving enthusiasts doesn't bother about money, only thing missing in the GT package is AWD system which is standard in most parts of world. KIA should have at least given an option, at the most it would have raised the price point by couple of grands which is acceptable for people who are ready to spend and even then it would cost less then the German rivals which uses the same ZF. Thanks.

The Stinger uses an in-house designed 8 speed, not the ZF. Same transmission used in the Genesis G70 and G80.

No matter how good Kia makes the stinger, it will take time for people to move on from the negative perception of Korean cars due to their past. Not to mention, in Singapore where wealth and prestige are highly valued, it begs the question who would spend $200k to say “I drive a Kia”?

No doubt that this gotta be one of the exceptionally good reviews thus far. Really gotta test drive Stinger to feel its “power”. Having the Stinger word replacing the mundane Kia logo is indeed an awesome idea from James! Keep up the good work!

If not did not remember wrongly. When it first come out have to book an appointment for a test drive. So now is the same or can just drop by for a test drive?

It would be good to do a comparison of the basic specs (in this case 2L vs the 3.3L featured in the video) for buyers to have an overview. The adding of funny animations (especially Plankton haha) is great! Keep it up guys!

HELL yeah I would get this car if I had the budget and wouldn't mind paying for that hefty road tax. It's an all rounded car with all the bells and whistles that the Germans might probably charge as options. But like what Julian said, the orange is just too bleh and would I want to get a Kia for that money? I can foresee lots of comments from friends and family saying why pay so much for a Korean car and I just can't deal with that...(typical Singaporeans) 😂 Perhaps the way around it would just be getting the 2.0 instead. 🤷🏻‍♂️ AWESOME REVIEW AS ALWAYS!

New Stinger 2.2 turbo model is priced at AUD 49k in 🇦🇺, already overpriced!. In 🇸🇬, is $200k and 10 yrs life span. $20k/yr depreciation on average. I rather spend S$20K/yr on holidays for a decade than a Stinger! 😅😅 Enjoy yr Stinger, bro!

The pricing is wrong, at 200k you can buy a supra which is 0.9s faster with better heritage.

Good review. I don't drive a German car but I must add that your comment about German cars (Kia's peers - I think not 😂) not having the tech or features you said exists in the Stinger is so untrue. Ventilated seats, heated seats, convenient features like steering wheel moving up as you exit, rear view mirrors tilting down when in reverse, electric tailgate, etc. are common features in German competitors, plus they usually have larger screens and some are touchscreen even. What you guys should have done was to shake the centre console and show your viewers if it's sturdy or shaky. Also you should have let us hear the wind noise and external surrounding noise when you're inside the car. To me, I wouldn't pay over $200k for a Kia.
