Hi Marek, another great review! Can I suggest one more item that you can include in your reviews? Trying a brief night-time drive, to show how good, or bad, a modern cars headlights are?
Great review Marek! As a car enthusiast I personally like the Kia Xceed, it looks attractive and far more interesting than VW group crossovers. In my reviews I always mention how Kia cars are generally great value for money, but I can agree that they never have the best identity. In other words, there are many models which they released just recently, which they never set out to do long ago. Their cars are putting a tough competition against the VW group cars and Stellantis group cars here in Belgium. Greetings from Belgium
@@MarekDrives None of the Ceed variants ever see North American soil. Is this the analog of the Venue as that has no AWD and is also a whisker's more practical than your standard hatchback, if that. We're getting the Venue from Hyundai and Seltos from Kia.
What a great looking car. I know this is shallow but the Kia logo just looks so low rent, needs a symbol or something I think instead of just ‘KIA’ in cheap looking letters.
I like the XCEED, it will be probably my next car after i30 Fastback. I like hatch(fast)backs and higher clearance is also something I would appreciate but full fledged SUV is a no go, so this is exactly what I want. Compared to Mazda CX30 is also a lot cheaper in Czechia with the same specs.
1:40 My old man for example. My parents needed a crossover basically since they got old and getting in and out became hard compared to lower vehicles. Plus weekend trips (sedan they had didnt have enough ground clearance)... We did a comparison 5-6 years ago of ground clearance of sedans back in the 80s and 90s and nowdays and cars beccame kinda too lowered for everyday use. Edit: for everyday use I find them also more usable with all the traffic jams and bad roads, better visibility and less worrying to drive over bad road and during winters even with 2wd. And I hated them until I starded driving one on daily basis. I still prefer my old mx5 for open roads with no jams although Im 199cm tall and I barely fit in somehow but on daily basis crossover kinda feels more functional and in winter times with good winter tyres I had no need for awd amd there's snow in my country, sometimes a lot of it.
Hi Marek 🙂 Great reviews you make 👍 I like the Kia Xceed a lot and I think I will order a 1.4 liter version late december 🎄 Here in Denmark we pay 160% tax on top of the car price so I will not order full options but there is an intro edition pack with a discount . Keep up the good work 👍😊
@Palle Jakobsen any news on cars becoming even more expensive in Denmark next year due to new emissions regulations for carmakers? Here in Poland we expect car prices to jump 10-20 percent depending on the model.
Marek Drives Hey Marek. That’s a very good question. Nobody really knows right know. The car dealships say no at the moment but they aren’t sure 🙄 E-cars prices will go up.
I know opinion about design is always subjective but this is great looking car. From design prespective I would prefer this over any other competitor and alson within Ceed lineup.
Thanks for an informative, well produced review. One thing, though; I don't get why you said the suspension 'is supposed to be softer' than the hatchback version since you're driving the car and you should be able to tell whether - or not- it actually is softer! Ride quality is an important factor to many so not giving a proper opinion about it is a significant omission imo.
I haven't driven them back-to-back. The ride is OK, consistently improving over the years. I assume the softer springs are there not to affect the ride on tarmac, but to compensate for owners' attempts to drive the car on gravel roads.
Marek , Thanks for all the videos what would choose between C4 and Xceed ,plus in a 1.5 Diesel which one will more efficient, which one you found that brings you alive and was fun to drive
I'm a BMW X2 driver and wondering what the real difference is for the premium badges vs something like this XCeed? Maybe I got spoilt but the X2 feels just OK to me. Would I be as happy with this Kia?
@@MarekDrives also almost all kia cars have higher road noises i believe(nokian and michelin cures this just a little bit), i usually boost the volume of spotify to endure to wind noises at 110+km/h but then again for me, that much wind noise is expected from a compact class.
do You plan also make reviews of best competitors in crossover class like Skoda Kamiq and new Peugeot 2008 and new Renault Captur ? specially in this class most spacious Peugeot 2008 would love to see most..
Why do you need AWD? Do you have any problem with your roads or you are planing to get off it? Do you have tough weather condition in the most places of Europe? Do you expect this car to be a racecar? Why else AWD is necessary? With AWD it would eat even more petrol, it would cost even more money, it would have additional parts to repair, and would have less advantages. If there be electro version, than that would be the only reason for AWD I think.
I think it plays the role like Volvo V-series Cross Country (In Hatchback form), and Subaru Outback and XV. Customer just want a high up ground clearance, but not like SUV. Maybe it's for some family that has senior people can climb up more convenience.
To answer why they are popular well for practical uses, having a higher ride height makes a lot of difference. Because getting in and out of low riding sedans and hatches gets really tiresome if you do it often. After driving a Van, there is no going back for me to those step down cars you have to squat into. I guess a small SUV is the next best thing because nobody wants a van or smth.
Marek Drives I am a father of 2 kids and driving an A3 sportsback 2003 1.6 FSi at the moment. Do you think is a good replacement? I saw 2008 too but too empty the inside
CX-30 has better quality interior (not necessarily better overall). Better equipment levels. Less intuitive infotainment. Handling is a bit wooly. I haven't driven the Kamiq yet.
Another gd review Marek, nice car..... I've had 5 Leons and i am now looking for a change....recommendations please petrol 180-250 bhpish , basically good warm hatch ...can;t afford 300 bhp boys , cheers
Did hunadai and Kia have a revolutionary increase in engines technology recently? A 204 hp for a 1.6 turbo seems a lot! Also same for other turbo petrol engines.
CX30 vs XCEED - which do you prefer as an everyday family car ? Fast and dynamic driving doesn't interest me , on the other hand , I'm after a convenient , high ground clearance vehicle.
Xceed, because it offers (IMO) better user experience. At least initially. If you're looking for ground clearance, get an SUV. Or at least a Volvo XC40.
@@MarekDrives Thanks for replying. These new crossovers that are slightly bigger than a hatchback have a advantage (from my point of view) - they offer the length of a medium sedan (like the Corolla for example) and also the offer more trunk space. SUVs like Sportage\Kuga for example are too big for me (it's is difficult for me to enter the car -i have some sort of physical disability) .
@Electronic Land leaders as in who sells the most (that will depend on the market) or which car I think is the least offensive (I'm not a big fan of crossovers)?
@@MarekDrives Sales rates don't interest me. Nowadays i drive 2017 Corolla and I'm looking for a better car for me and my family. The crossovers segment is a quite interesting these days.
Nice video. But you forget about audio system. How it works. sound system Quality. I Want to buy new car. 30, 000eu. . I want Kia xceed. Because only this car has big dvd- GPS.
I'm not an audio guy. I can tell the difference between the reaaaaaally expensive optional sound systems in premium cars, and whatever else is installed in the mass market cars. But to me OEM vs. whatever branded stereo KIA may use sounds pretty much the same.
Kia designers are doing great work! Looks good but interior lighting is really bad, my back seating lamp butned out and is out of function! In terms of fuel consumption, it is not really good! In sweden they should add an opyion likr motor warming! Its really hard to get in the car and wait until the car warms up!
It's a good looking car. But yeah the break lights are kind of boring and the Kia logo is so budget-looking. Compare it to the timeless vw logo...! Let's see, maybe I'll get one anyway :-)
Id like it if it was an honest car and not this half raised,no AWD confusion. It looks indecisive. Also automotive manufacturers now, have me desiring matte black plastic interior over this shiney fingerprint magnet trim
Marek Drives for example on the start new Peugeot 3008 has price 6000 to 7000 USD more than today (here in Ukraine we calculate cars, estate mostly in USD, but official price tugs in Ukrainian Hryvna of course).....Financing sometime can have promotions even zero annual interest, but this if dealers like to clear warehouses...Not sure, but usually its 10 to 20 p.a. And worst thing that need get full insurance can annualy cost 500-700 USD.....Leasing not common.... This days in my area much better to have big ground clearance due to road condition.....As a sample, from my city of Kherson to next city of Mykolaiv (both province' centers) half of way so disaster that holes up to 30 cm.....Im affraid to drive here even my Sportage
