I'm not familiar with Indonesia's school system, but so much of effective programming is understanding mathematically-provable logic - that's why Computer Science students study math intensively. If Indonesia's school system isn't as complete a failure at teaching math as some, then it's just a matter of learning some language stuff, because the logic will come more easily.

@@n8pls543 indonesian here. I think our education system is quite average, still a bit lacking behind compared to neighboring country like Singapore. I also do programming, and I'm self taught most of the time. I can say that one have to be REALLY interested in programming to start learning it by themself here. I think that's what happened with Kobo, she's one of the few who somehow found out about programming and got hooked.

We don't know her audition clips. If she played guitar and sang as an audition clip just like in her karaoke stream, it's not really surprising that she got the job. With respect to others before Kobo, I think she's the most musically inclined on all Hololive including Gen 1.

Learning to code doesn't actually take all that long. Unless your trying to learn c++ or something (or any language that has you do your own memory management), it could easily be learned in less than a year. You just have to learn the structure of the language, the syntax, and how the commands work. However, learning how to code well... that is another matter entirely.

learning to code is not that hard my university only dedicates a few weeks per language. The difficulty is being expirienced enough to do it efficiently, which is NOT something a teacher can teach you. You have to take action yourself for that

Common misconception other people thinks is that "coding is hard and/or complicated." It is actually not. Coding is more like computer dictionary slapped into real life logic. My professor in college once told us that once you know the logic, you can make the program which is true. Why "dictionary slapped into real life logic?" Say you wanted to show your friend your drawing and want their opinion. In real life, the logic commands would be drawing > show friend > say "is it good?" In computer coding, the logic is Display Drawing > Load Drawing > Display "Is it good?" Put it in internet language like html: (preps content) (displays drawing) Is it good? (displays on screen) (end of content) They're really the same. Like IRL, you just changes the language, love in english, mahal in Filipino. Same meaning, different codes/words.

The basic fo coding is pretty easy. Especially for web coding. There are a lot of tools and tutorials about how to use it that you can find easily on the internet. Even without a simplified tools, the basics are not hard. Coding Android apps is also not that hard. Because just like web coding, tools and tutorials are everywhere. The problem is you need a good PC or laptop for Android app development. That thing eats a lot of RAM. So for a regular coding, all you need is just understanding the basic, and then learn about how to use those simplified tools. The truly hard parts are when you: 1. Want to learn and understand everything from the basics. The data structure, the process details, how it truly works, etc. So basically, no EZ QoL tools for you lol. This is what they teach in the early stages of a Computer Science major. Normally, you need around a year just for understanding the basic. I remember that I nearly went bald when i made an UNO game that is played on Windows command prompt for one of my end-of-the-year projects on my early university days lol. Noted, no A.I was included. So it was just a simple turn-based multiplayer game. It's supposed to be an implementation of the basics after all. But for the newbie me back then, that thing was hard. 2. Want to make advanced stuff like A.i, biometrics, etc. This is the true beef of programming lol. Not really much used outside of scientific researches or advanced technological companies tho.

This just means preparation means nothing, or even make it worse for you. Who knows how many people applied just because it was hololive or for a chance to meet their favorite member. Some of the best members had never even streamed before, look at Calli and Moona.

Based on the number of people who applied for Maha5 (ID's second biggest vtuber agency after hololive -- based on cumulative subs number), I think the number of applicants for Hololive should be at thousands.

That means effort means nothing in front of talents and luck. Some people are just blessed. Thousands applied with a lot of knowledge and preparation, and here comes a girl who never even heard about vtuber zooming past them all with no streaming experience.

She spent a lot of time learning to play a lot of musical instruments, and no one just sings that good out of the box -- she clearly has practiced singing for a long time. While streaming experience would definitely help, it's definitely not the only aspect for an entertainer to succeed (in fact, 'streaming' is a very young category of hobby compared to a lot of other things that would help you to be vtuber -- singing, gaming, drawing, MCing, being a comedian, etc)

Well... Are you aware that Hololive undeniable requirement is that audition must be 'Female only'? If you mean Holostar, you need to work hard since male vtuber is though path (Try to join nijisanji instead).

the things I notice about most of the members are their ability to pay attention to the most mundane task for long period of time. Like when Calli spend 11 hours playing jump king, that would have been torture for me but for her it just seems so natural. I can't pay attention for more than 10 minutes even if my life depends on it. I feel like my life would have been very different if I have the ability to pay attention better.

@@natsudragneel-ir7sr ​ yeah this "hyper" focusing on one task and not having to do this or that by the side; like even if one works at something - you check your phone or you suddenly remember this other thing that you wanted / have to do... but for them or most of them - this hour long grind set is NOW after years of focus and hard work, something so natural to them... Sure there are people with conditions who cant focus at all, F, but for many of us its just the way we grew up and as you said where could we all be in life if one developed that ability (much earlier).
