Purchased and installed these speakers in July and wanted to give an honest review for people thinking of purchasing. Massive upgrade from the stock speakers. For people wondering the loudness difference, I have noticed that I used to keep my volume around 23-25 using the stock speakers, now I consistently have it around 20-21 because they are just naturally louder. The biggest difference I noticed was the crispness of the music, individual instruments on songs are definitely more noticeable. I also found that I had to adjust the levels of sound (bass, mid, treble) to get the music to sound better with the new speakers but that’s all preference. Overall I recommend and I’m glad I upgraded, install took less that 20 minutes
I have bought the speaker package from this video and was skeptical about the ease of installation and would it improve the overall sound quality. I can fervently confirm that it is as easy as the video looks. The screws for the new speakers in my kit were not the same and it would have been helpful to get the speaker cover removal tool in my kit. But to get the vast improvement in sound quality for the price and small investment of time it was totally worth it.
10/10 ❤, customer service is grade A. All the way down to stickers and nerds in the box. Packaging is grade A, with attention to detail on everything (even sending the box the speakers came in). Sound quality is definitely a step up from stock. Side note: Thank you guys for clarifying on my sound bar with the tweeter.
@@gueroballesteros3130 I ordered for the JL/JT I have a 2018 Unlimited Sport clarity is a major improvement with the kickers. If your order the one with the knee speakers expect to do a lot of work in removing things to install them. I have yet to do it because of time and I do not like that type of work. Wish I could return the knee ones for a partial refund.
Guys thanks for these two great install vids! I plan on ordering the 8 speaker kit soon, but wanted your recommendation on which sub to compliment? I have the Alpine system in my JL but ordered an adapter ring to accommodate a deeper basket. Thanks for the help!
@@e.ghaith If your Wrangler has an Alpine subwoofer in the cargo area mounted the right side, your Jeep is factory Amplified. If there is no sub along the right side wall, your Jeep is Non-factory amplified.
The website says that this is for an upgrade on the sound bar for Jeep gladiator 2020 and up. However, that is not correct because in 2024, they put airbags in the sound bar so it’s completely different than what is in the video. The sound bar speakers will not fit in a 2024 gladiator sound bar.
@@hyemm The product page states “Kicker KS Plug & Play Speaker Bundle Upgrade (Factory Amplified) | '18-'23 JL/ '20-'23 JT”. It also states, “Not Compatible with 2024 jeeps.” We have it noted that these are for 2023 and below only.
Just received mine today and installed them right away. Installation was easy and and they look great, however I was a little disappointed as I don't noticed much of difference? I have the premium Alpine factory sound system and was hoping these will improve much more than 10%.
Thank you for sharing. You should have most certainly noticed an improvement in clarity, however volume and adjustability are limited by the head unit. To confirm, you have the factory Premium system with the amp and sub, correct? Remember, we have a 60 day return policy so please do not feel stuck if you are disappointed.
I ordered the non-amplified kit without knee speakers for my Sport S. Still can’t crank the music without a lot of distortion. I don’t think the stock head unit has enough power to push the kickers without adding an amplifier.
Any upgraded speakers will be better quality and will sound better, however at full volume, with the factory radio, they’re not getting clean high power. If you’re wanting clarity, yes, the upgraded speakers will provide clarity. If you’re seeking “louder” that is a product of power which will need to come from an amplifier. In summary, they are going to be clearer and crisper over the factory, but “loud” will come from an amp. They can handle a ton of high amplified power and they’ll reach a whole new level of performance when fed properly.
Wow, that looks super easy! Would yall recommend also getting a sub for those of us without one already? Or will these provide enough for heavier base/low tones in songs? Currently, its pretty sad with the stock 😂
@@trailsevenI actually sent you guys a message on your website yesterday, but will I be able to use this kit on my 24? I see the listing shows 18-23 JL's, but then I'm able to select 2024 before adding it to my cart. I'm really hoping so since this seems like a great option and there isn't much out there marked for 24s yet. 😭
@@Karlman32 Upgrading speakers will provide better sounding music over higher quality speakers. If you’re wanting loud, and bass, that will come from more power and a subwoofer.
I have installed a similar system but infinity component speakers on the alpine system but all of the sudden rear soundbar speakers are muffled and twitters stop working or go in and out. Scratching my head looking online for solutions. Any suggestions?
The factory amplifier in the Alpine system can create a handful of miscellaneous issues. The solution is to bypass the factory amp and add an upgraded amplifier.
If my jeep don’t have the premium system. But I want the rear speakers with the tweeter. Should fit correct? Just won’t have the extra connector for it?
If you’re jeep doesn’t have the factory premium system and you haven’t upgraded the radio or added an amplifier, we would NOT recommend adding the pod with the tweeter. In short, your factory radio cannot handle the power draw requirements of the additional tweeter. This can and will cause the CAN system to react in a protective state which will negatively impact the sound. You can install the pod with the tweeter if you have the factory premium system, have an upgraded head unit, or add an amplifier.
We’re confident that you’ll be pleased. And if you’re not, we stand behind our return policy. We don’t want any customer unhappy with a product received by us.
I have a 2024 jeep wrangler Sahara and I bought the alpine spv 65X and it didn’t fit because the soundbar housing layout was completely different. Would the speakers you just showed work for my jeep?
Great install videos on the new JL upgrade bundle. Didn't see a head unit for a JL on your website. Is there a recommended one or did I overlook the available JL head units?
Thank you very much! We haven’t yet released the JL and JT head units but we’re working on a couple of different options which will be releasing within the next month or so.
@@user-ti7bu7pl1u These are 100% a better speaker than factory. They’re clearer and crisper. If your goal is top off door off type of loud, you’ll want to consider one of the plug and play bundles which includes an amp kit. Let us know if we can be of assistance.
@@user-ti7bu7pl1u You can always start with the speakers and add the amp afterwards if you feel that you want more power. Here are a few full bundle options which include the amp and subs as well as bundles that include just the amp and sub should you decide to build your system in stages. trailseven.com/collections/audio-bundles/generation_jt If you know that you’re wanting top off, doors off, cruising down the highway loud, then an amp package is what you’ll find fits your build best. If you’re wanting better sounding speakers with clarity etc., the speakers alone will provide that.
I’m looking to purchase the base non amplified version with the 6.5 inch knee panels. Would I need to make any adjustments for a 2021 jeep wrangler 4 door. Also, I plan on purchasing two 12 inch subwoofers for my setup would I need to buy larger speakers afterwards??
Happy to assist! The 6.5’s will replace the factory pods without any modifications. If you’re planning on adding an amp down the road, you will want to purchase the bundle that is marked for the factory amplified system. You can install the dash speakers, knee speakers, and the soundbar pods, however you will not connect the tweeter connection until the amp has been installed. Connecting the tweeter prior to will create power draw issues. Once the amp or aftermarket radio is installed, you’ll have the power available to not trigger the issues. Hope that helped, let us know if you have any questions or if you need anything at all.
They’re absolutely an improvement over the factory Alpine speakers. They’re a cleaner, crisper sound that we’re confident you won’t be disappointed with. The Jeep in the video also has the Alpine system which performs much better with the upgraded speakers.
We do have a sub option that drops into the OEM location if you’re not wanting to install the Powered Down-Firing. Checkout our MB Quart lineup which includes the OEM drop in Sub!
The Standard systems will connect the single coaxial speaker to the large connector in the sound bar. Both of the small speakers will be removed and only 1 connector will fit. The small speaker connector will not be used and can be tucked away.
If you have a Galdiator, the sub is located behind the rear bench in the middle of the wall which you can see through the speaker grill. If you have a 4 door JL, the sub is mounted to the right of the rear bed along the right side with a speaker grill marked with Alpine. If you have a 2 door, the sub is in the center of the rear floor.
Ordered the standard bundle for my 22 Gladiator, and unfortunately the speaker is too large for the factory holes. I just received the spacer needed but it still doesn't seem to fit well. i can hear the spacer rattling around. could you possibly upload a video showing to install in Gladiator with spacers. thanks!
Sounds like you’re referring to the Alpine speakers and not the Kickers. Please give us a call so we can help troubleshoot. Mon-Friday, 9am-5pm est 301-450-3207
How much louder does is this compare to the factory Premium system? 10%? Twice? I need it to be louder as I drive topless on the highway... I can barely hear the factory speakers... or would it be good to add another amp?
They’re undoubtedly clearer, crisper, and louder, however It’s hard to give a percentage. Also, you’ll be limited by your factory head unit. The Kicker speakers are capable of handling much more power than the stock head unit can provide to them. Before adding another amp, which isn’t an easy or inexpensive task with the JL’s/ JT’s, we’d definitely recommend swapping the head unit not only for power, but also for the ability to fully dial in your system with the built in EQ.
Glad that you asked! In that case, you’ll want to select the package for the Factory Amplified. Although you’re not factory amplified, the Stinger head unit will provide the power necessary to include the tweeters in the pod. However, you won’t want to connect the tweeter connections until after you’ve installed the Stinger head unit. If you’re installing simultaneously, install the radio first. You can give us a call also for assistance.
Hello! If you have the factory subwoofer which will be mounted behind the rear bench in the in the center, that would be the factory Premium Alpine system. If you do not have the factory sub in that spot, you’ll want to order the Standard Bundle. Let us know if you need any assistance!
Our Kicker subwoofers are not weather resistant, however we have other solutions for weather resistant subs, amps, speakers, etc! Visit us and let us know how we can assist!
On the sound bar speakers, is it necessary to remove the little port tube? It doesn't look like it is in the way of the new install... is it? Will it hurt to leave it? Also, there are two other factory speakers... do you have replacements for those too?
Yes, it is necessary to remove the port tube in order to achieve the best possible sound. The sound bars have 4 speakers (2 on each side), however only the Premium systems (factory installed amp and subwoofer) will receive pods with the 2 speakers on each side. The Standard systems will have 1 coaxial speaker.
@@kennyphelps1160 Sorry for missing that. Yes, we have knee panel speaker swap options. The bundle has the 4” coaxial swap, however we can put together 6.5” drivers or coax as well. Let us know what we can help you out with.
So I noticed …. I have a 2 door and there’s lights on the speakers for the back seats . When I put these in will it remove the lights also ? I don’t Care if they do just want to know
I would comment that they're more of a high range speaker. We pair the bundle with coaxial speakers vs. drivers/ components so a sub wouldn't hurt to add to compliment the system.
