When I first heard this back in the 90's I thought he said "If your names not Dan your not coming in" ...I was like a club full of Dans ? What's going on ?
Took me an eternity and I've only realized in 2020 that it's "Your names' not down, you're not coming in !". I am convinced it was "Dan" for what seems like ...
same here.. MTV PartyZone turned me from Grunge to Electronic Spent 20+ years clubbing all over My left knee is now called Terminal Arthritis & right one is Crack Snapple pop
i was 9 in 92, completley missed the original atmosphere! tho i do pride myself on a massive colection of early 90s hardcore, im allways mixing this stuff underground and commercial to such an extent i think im actualy going deaf!

That is a good Question. I saw this style of dancing on a documentary that should be fun and should be brought back especially with Covid 19 People wearing Gas Masks dancing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KEYz2CRu1RY.html
Ahhhh the original, I have the XL records the American Chapter and love everything on it and it's so diverse the early rave scene was just an awesome time. I have tracks from all over in the early 90's still throw em down with some of the new stuff.
Just found out Kicks Like a Mule are supporting Prodigy in Manchester for one night only next month. Mega peed off, I'm gonna miss them coz I've booked to see Prodge in Birmingham. Dizzie Rascal support will have to do :(
Hi "Sir Grumpy"., Presumably, you were around when this came out.I do not know where you lived then.Certainly in London, there was always a possibility of this kind of rejection! I was lucky in some instances that I was recognised on the door by someone in authority who knew me from other venues James
I was jus listening to Tiga's podcast interview with Richard Russel, he mentioned this track with his strong british accent and I heard 'Your name's not Dan, your not comin in', so that is what I searched, and I was able to easily find the track. Goood track!
Your name’s not Dan, you’re not coming in! :-D Seriously though, I remember them doing this live on Top of the Pops, and they had some guy doing ragga over the top. It was pretty awesome.
I'm 35 and i always remembered Dan not comin in, but listening now it makes sense like a lot of things. One fu*ked era to do your teens to within the m25.
@@b77w4r The book was ‘Energy Flash’ by Simon Reynolds and came with a CD that covered a range of styles from the early rave period. It had some tracks I’d never heard of which were great. Here is the track list from the CD if you’re interested and I highly recommend the book if you’re interested in the early rave scene. www.discogs.com/Simon-Reynolds-Energy-Flash/release/159723
today i was discussing this song with my friend he said "i cant believe some people think its: 'if your names not dan youre not coming in' " he then goes "its obviously: if your names not DANNY youre not coming in" fucking hell
on the spotify THEY miss alot of different beat styles this is genius had to AFTER placing THE HOUSE CREW keep the fire burning i checked this out to see if the original video is here cad to say see it different cut music thou
The Klaxons covered this song. 'Kicks Like Mule' (early ninties English rave culture...) The Klaxons have taxed many songs and ripped a lot of dance acts off like this one.
GUEST LIST @ 1:03 John & Julie, Demon Boyz, SL2... awesome - never saw this in the states - although lots of dickhead bouncers - still got my original press - nice one thx
Anyone remember the tune that came out just after this "My name is down, ch-check the list" ? If you know it tell us the name! I need to hear that again :)
