Although a little outdated because of CentOS7 nowadays, it is still very helpfull for me building and creating custom Kickstart ISO's for EL8 and EL9 Distro's (AlmaLinux and RockyLinux). Thank you so much.

Thank you for the video. You didn't mention that the label that you put for inst.stage2 had to match what you put in the -V when creating the iso this caused me some issues but I figured it out.

Hey Buddy, If I use mkisofs -J I'm getting Joliet tree sort failed exception .. So I've used -joliet-long instead of -J. This solved the issue but the ISO is not in bootable state. Vsphere VM's are not detecting the ISO as bootable device... Is there any way to repack the ISO as bootable ISO ?

@@TechArkitwe have one ESXI virtual image which is ubuntu 20 os, in that we have application and data. The same VM we need to be downloaded as a bootable ISO image and we need to boot the physical machine with that iso and data should exist the same

Hi Nice . Doubt , 1. If my server having file system already mean I want to remove that in during kick start installation without any manual input. 2. Sometimes my Phy server disk name are starting with /Dev/SDB how can we identify that

Hey bud. I was trying to auto install a debian system much like how you'd do with kickstart for a rhel system, over a pxe server. However i just can't seem to get it to work, you think you could do a tutorial on that? big thanks

Did you re-pack the iso file with kickstart file.

@@TechArkit I did, but it failed as well, so i put my kickstart file on usb and added the linux ks=hs:UUID=xxxx-xxxx:/ks.cfg and it worked. After that I had error setting up base repository, so I manualy inserted the url for image repository, and it worked. thank u for the guide, and I hope this helps someone.

Hey, I need to create a custom fedora ISO file which contains packages that I need. Is it possible to do this? Can you help me out with this. I need various RnD but didn't find any suitable document regarding this.

Yes, possible download required packages and put them in appropriate folder and pack as ISO.

@@TechArkit Thanks for the reply. I did that previously but when I pack that ISO and use rufus to generate bootable pendrive. The bootable pendrive is getting generated but when I use that pendrive I'm not able to install OS.

Hi, I am trying to Install centos From my pendrive. I have placed my ks.cfg file in the same pendrive. I'm stuck and don't know how to specify the path to the ks.cfg file in my grub.cfg. please share how it is done.... inst-ks:hd?????

did you burn your Pendrive as bootable with ks.cfg file as shown in this video.
