Kid Creole and the Coconuts reunion for a day 

Genius. Way ahead of his time. You can't define this music, it's timeless. There's a whole lot of people who owe Kid Creole a great debt, and I hope they finally get their due.

I thought they were so unique at the time, I miss them. Great music, fantastic showmanship and kinda wholesome. Good work guys!

They never the recognition they deserve

I have to admit that I had/have a serious crush on Adriana from the first time she caught my eye. She brought me in to the magic of "Kid Creole and the Coconuts!" She will always be my favorite Coconut. What I love about her is her musical and theatrical talents and her creativity. She is extremely focused. She has a clear artistic vision - she knows exactly what she wants. She is an entrepreneur and a risk taker. She is also one of the sexiest women alive!!!

What a great class has Kid creole : he could have been a good teacher at Uni !

Im a Blues-Guitarrist... But these guys (and girls) are one of the best in music, beside Nile Rodgers (CHIC). And they are so symatic. I saw the first in my hometown in ROCKPALAST 1982 and it blew my mind! UNTIL TODAY!

Please reform the "Tropical Gangsters" line-up for 2012 (30 years) = The Kid, The Skipper, Gina Gina, Doris & Lucille (August Darnell, Coati Mundi, Adriana Kaegi, Cheryl Poirier & Taryn Hagey). Also, kudos to Janique Svedberg, Carol Colman, Lee Robinson (The Professor), Pond Life, Jimmy Rippetoe, Dave Spann, and Bongo Eddie. Best live act ever!

They were a great band in their heyday. As multi-talented as they were multi-ethnic. Such a pity they couldn't garner the same acceptance in the U.S. as was bestowed upon them in Europe. Reminds me (pardon for the comparison) of a New Testament verse; "A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own people".
