No. That Alex guy went up on stage at a festival to rap, he got cheered and absolutely loved by the crowd. Idk what crowds you've been in as of late, but they're a bit dodgy if they boo whoever go on stage.
Dimebag definitely was a cool musician. Even though the kid ignored the handshake gestures(Yes, I facepalmed), maybe not on purpose due to excitement, but you never know, Dimebag didn't get upset.
Jack Wade That's why everyone that's heard of him and has heard his music, likes him. I'm not a Pantera fan, as per say, I'm more of a Dimebag fan, both for his guitar skills and his people skills. I don't know any of the Pantera lyrics because I mentally block them out. I just listen to the rest of the music because it kicks ass. Correcton to the above statement...I'm not a Phil Anselmo fan. Vinnie, Dimebag and Rex Brown kick ass.
I think it's funny that Dime looks like the badass he is, but he's super fucking nice and super fucking funny. Most people who have the "badass" look are usually dicks.
Dude, that's Pantera. That's the way they were. They treated their fans with respect and they owned that fuckin' stage. I REALLY miss those days, my early 20's. Back when shit seemed a little more true. The Legends, PANTERA !

It’s not harmonics, it’s just notes; it’s not very difficult to hit those notes like that, especially with 10 full guitar amplifier stacks behind himself. To the guy talking about a harmonica, maybe you should not comment on something when you don’t understand what someone means so you don’t seem stupid.
And what do they do once he's finished? Instead of just sending him back out into the crowd, they invite him to watch the rest of the show from the side of the stage. And I bet they gave him a free pass backstage as well. How awesome is that???

Though the kid fell short of being better than Phill as a vocalist it was still cool to see Pantera was humble enough to have a fan on there doin vocals like that. So many bands now a days that are famous aren't doin stuff like this. Props to Pantera
Most of the Pantera shows I saw, the whole band was cool like that. Even Big Val and crew were more than gracious to the drunken crowd and all the crap that was going on. Good times and lots of good shows. It's says something when we hark back to bands like Pantera, Metallica's Master/Justice era and classic Slayer so much. So much more passion, energy and a desire to fucking shit up in a heavier and faster way.
Phil is awesome.Embarrassing or not this was the best night of that kid's life. and I'll give him 5 points for having balls to go on stage and walk the talk.

+joseph smith l was quoting Phil Anselmo from the interview he did with Vh1 during an episode of "Behind The Music - Pantera." l just applied what Phil said about himself to the kid in this video as sort of an inside joke for Pantera fans in the know.
Ok, that was pretty fucking cool. How many people can relate to that? How many people can say, "Been there done that"...had to be a dream come true for the kid. And props to Phil and Dimebag, they were both really classy about the whole thing.
You guys are a cultural community who rejoice in such voices and talents and harmonies, i salute you and congratulate you before going back to 'the other side'.
This is the reason I consider Phil Anselmo a real gentleman. I thought this is a fake, but is not. Letting a fan up on the stage on YOUR show and let him to have his "5 minutes alone" is truly amazing. Phil always loved the crowd and fans, even stoned. He is a really good man with a HUGE hearth, he respect and love the fans, God bless him!
I tried to get onstage at a show in 2000...six feet tall and 220lb of solid muscle but Big Val shook me like a rag doll after I plowed through two of his guys haha AWESOME!
This is why Phil is awesome. So many artists are so self absorbed that if they saw a sign like that in the crowd, they might bring em on stage but they wouldn't be as nice as Phil was.

Just shows how good these guys were to their fans, definitely the coolest band to walk the Earth. You never see this kind of thing happening nowadays, the crowd was so supportive too. Wish I was alive to see them back in the day
