If he was just hitting him with that tool to “get him first,” then why was the dad unrecognizable? That seems more like a hate/rage crime than self defense.

What makes me think the pipe wrench situation was the truth is that if the son was going to lie then he could've gone all the way with the lie. He could've said that his father actually _did_ go for the pipe wrench, so he had to wrestle it away from his father and afterwards killed his father in self-defense because his father tried to get the pipe wrench back. 33 months isn't much but it's possible he would've served 0 months and gotten off scot-free.

I agree, i don't think it was pre plot either. Kidd was seemingly adamant on blaming the woman for the entire thing, despite the father genuinely being up to no good somewhat lol

I think the mom was 100% the main reason the son killed the dad. Either the son was used by his mother willingly or unwillingly. But i think she saw an opportunity to kill him and get rich from it. And she had a cover story and she'd use her son to do it. If the dad was beat insanely bad then obviously the son wasn't just trying to defend himself. So I'd lean towards both of them knew what they were gonna do before they got to the dads house.

height and size don’t matter when a weapon is involved one wrong hit is all it takes in a life or death situation now it’s wrong of them to act like they ain’t do it but i can’t blame them

When I first watched this one I thought maybe them saying they were afraid for their lives was a cover up so Parte could help his mom get back at his dad for cheating the first time and then it just escalated from there 🤷‍♀️ I don't think they were actually afraid of him.
