Yo, Local Trinidadian here, this whole situation is fucking crazy & sent ripples around our small country. Glad to see more people know about the tragedy.

Local trini here. They actually went to court to try and get Paria to at the very least compensate the divers families. A lot of the court sessions were filmed at first and the head of Paria kept dodging and making excuses as to why they didn't rescue them. Christopher had to go and testify multiple times and the poor guy kept breaking down and blaming himself. When Paria started to get pressure from the citizens watching, suddenly they stopped airing the sessions and all you heard was that the matter was settled. The official result wasn't told but the families definitely did NOT get any compensation.

They could have saved them but they chose not to......................that is absolutely fked up. Christopher must have some serious survivors guilt. The fact that he would have died too if he hadn't have been so hell bent on going up to the surface to try and get help for his team. Dude..................................😭

Trinidadian here, yeah dis case was just tragic. Mind you some wild shit does go down in trinidad and tobago (de trinis know), dis was one of the worst. Dey still never get justice, cuz somebody in high places not allowing it. Dat is my opinion atleast. I never saw dat footage before but i saw the bodies after. Bai if i was dem men family is to sue Paria fuel into oblivion yuh know

The reasons why they didn’t attempt to save the diver because I learn from a certified scuba diver that you and another diver going diving for long time and one of your tanks become low of oxygen and your partner or yourself starts going crazy and start hallucinating is because of nitrogen narcosis that affecting your brain. when your in that situation your not supposed to save your partner because if you try to save them also put you at risk of dying also because the first thing they’re going to do when you go save them there going to go straight for your oxygen mask and causes you to going in nitrogen narcosis. The worse part is you when you go take in oxygen while in nitrogen narcosis it causes the symptoms to get worse and eventually killing you. Your suppose leave your scuba partner when they start going into nitrogen narcosis. The Trinidadian didn’t save people because they’re being selfish or didn’t want to is because they knew the risks if they did go back down into pipe. They if they try to go back down to save them they would be attacked by the diver and be met with the same fate

I think that was a very good idea and respectful to ask your girl if she ok to watch before letting it play the actual clip. these videos can leave stress, or nightmares for people. personally yes i could not do this job, like cave diving and would be freaked out, but have no problem watching cause i just would never put myself in that situation

They were not working for Paria, they were working for LMCS, which were contracted by Paria

I might be wrong here, but if we step back and look at the situation. If something like this occurred in any first world country, efforts would be made to save those men. It’s just a sad situation.. I’m sure human error was made. Like I feel like the men should of been aware they need to pressurize the habitat. This comes either with experience or direction from Paris… in the end those men shouldnt’tof of been left to die, an attempt to save time should of been made.

COMPANY FOR SURE COULD'VE SUCTION ED THE WATER OUTTA THERE, OR PUMP AIR INTO THERE TO REMOVE THE WATER OUT OF THERE & POSSIBLY PUSH THE GUYS OUT AT THE SAME TIME! OR, SEND DOWN A LONG STIFF CORD UNTIL YOU FEEL TENSION, PULL IT UP, AND IF ITS ONE OF THE GUYS, JUST REPEAT TILL NO MORE TRAPPED GUYS LEFT!

The pipes were bolted on they could have removed the bolts or just cut the pipe. But there loves wasn't worth the down time that pipe would have been off line if it was cut. So they let them die and pay whatever if need be. But they would have lost to much money 💡💯

I don't understand how they could recover the bodies after but not while they were still alive, can someone explain it too me? Cause that sounds like a load of shit to me.. rip to them and their families

If they can pull their dead bodies out of there they could definitely have pulled them out while they were alive.
