Kiddie Kingdom Part 1: The Fun House - Fallout 4 Nuka World Lore

Was anyone else watching his health bar as it kept getting more and more red.

Am I the only one who thinks slow mo voices in Fallout 4 sound hideously disturbing?

Of all the stories from Nuka-World, this one was the most tragic. All the performers, entertainers, and staff of the park slowly succumbing to a disease they could not see, could not understand, and could not stop. It was just so sad.

In my game I gave this park to the deciples i thought they would get a kick out of it

I did not have any issues with the fun house. My gut reaction would be to say that ghoulification can not be reversed but then I remembered Vergil who turned into a super mutant and was able to reverse it so I can not rule it out completely especially since the FEV literally rewrites its host's DNA. Come to think of it there are quite a few things about ghouls we do not know for certain such as are they truly immortal or do they just age much slower than normal humans? Another question I would like to know is do they inevitably turn feral? My guess to the second question is "no" given how many pre-war ghouls you encounter in Fallout 4 alone but I can't help but be curious.

I watched this entire video and was so pumped for part 2 I didn’t notice this was posted 2 hours ago. I spent 25-30 minutes looking for part 2 and now I can’t wait for it. Oxhorn your content is amazing.

I've always thought that the one room in the spinning room was a flashback to before the bombs dropped by the Sole Survivor. Don't know how that tracks for lore but it's still cool.

Here's a really good tip for fighting ghouls, specifically tougher ghouls. Aim for one of the legs and don't stop. Once it falls off, they just give up.

You know, the whole radioactive mist thing reminds me a lot of the Dead Money DLC in New Vegas. Specifically, it reminds me of the red poison cloud. Hell, the ghouls remind me of the Ghost People. Without the limb breaking requirement.

Seeing Ox having to struggle that much really makes me glad about my run with a commando/explosives built that was made to sling led at enemies untill they have enough. Also a hazmat suit does wonders.

Ox you might not know this but one of the things i like that was in Fallout 4 is that the VATS sequence can be stopped by pressing the right mouse button, it´s pretty useful, like instead of getting slapped a bit by a feral, you do that lol. i hope you´ll see. love your videos as always.

I think the upside down room and the multiple doors in the spinning room were the best parts. Just some really creative thinking behind them all.

I love Fallout 4 to the bottom of my heart. It's so much fun to replay over and over again. Fallout 4 is a great game but watching your videos on New Vegas is awesome! New Vegas looks like an amazing game and I wish they made a remake of it for the current consoles because I would play that 100% on my ps4. I know I could get it on steam but I don't have the money for that currently as a teenager. I wish Bethesda would give the rights to Fallout to Obsidean. They do a much better job to get invested in lore and characters. I love the lonesome road videos you did Oxhorn! Ulysses is my favorite character in the whole fallout series right next to Joshua Graham

When i came across Rachel in the game and listened to her holotape, i thought it was just a nice little story to come across. But then her story comes full circle as you go through Kiddie Kingdom, and its pretty awesome. And of all the things you do during the Nuke World quests, taking out Oswald made me feel the worst.

It's actually really easy to keep track of doors in the spinning room by shooting each door you check. The bullet holes persist so you know which doors you've tried.

I'm currently playing through Fallout 4 and all DLC. I always watch Oxhorns RU-vid vids after I complete an area to see what I missed. Great content.

Ox, you never know what is possible; that defected Institute scientist turned himself into a super-mutant then back after the sole survivor recovered his work from his lab. It might be possible to reverse goulism in a similar way, but maybe only if they still retain even a slight fragment of sentient former selves. But that's just speculation on my part; I don't really know what ways Bethesda will take their Fallout canon in the future. So many different fan theorys have sprouted from this franchise, and that is why I love the series as a whole so much. Thank you Ox for another fantastic video keep up the good work. :) :P

I always had an irrational fear of fun houses growing up so this area was a living nightmare for me. Took me a while to get through it all but was worth it

Is it just me or the enemy's in Fallout 4 has become stronger and harder to kill since the updates?? Which in that case that's something really good, adds a little bit of excitement.. :) :)

Hey Ox I think I found a lore conflicting poster in the vault where you save Nick Valentine it shows Vault boy holding a radroach and it says extermination is everyone’s job. I think this is lore conflicting because you hear from a trigger man that it was never intended for use (and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t completed) so if the radroaches only mutated after the bombs dropped how did Vault Tec know about the roaches. The only reason this would be up is because the inhabitants of the vault would have put it up but there are no signs of any. If you could tell me about this or make a video about it that would be great, thanks your the best Ox

Every time I visit Nuka World, it reminds me of New Vegas. The theme, the desert-like area, the slight yellowish filter and the soundtrack. I love it

So on the topic of Nuka World, did Ox do a video on the Nuka World Raiders? They look like they have some interesting lore.

Oxhorn, if you happen to read this comment, I thought it would be interesting to try to make a Nuka World Gangs video explaining each gang thoroughly as you can. I also would find it interesting if you were to make a video about how the Nuka World Raider ending may not actually be as bad as it appears to be. I've noticed that in the game, the Nuka World Raiders seem to be a Kingdom made up of loyal Duchies or Counties (Each Raider Faction) united under a single ruler (Overboss), with smaller settlements as vassals to each raider faction. These settlements would be under a loyal lord to the faction. Now although you may force a settlement into supplying you, you basically are providing protection for that piece of land, and in exchange for that protection they do give resources, and loyalty. In the game it appears that these settlers are unhappy, but in reality they probably would be much more thankful to have a better chance at survival than them just being on their own out in the wastes with constant threats and would be more likely grateful for that protection in general. Assuming that these settlements are full of shops, and enough food to supply both the settlers, and the raiders, I don't see too much of a problem with these settlements and the raiders. The only real problem would them be losing their sovereignty by threats and force. As in the game, you can pay settlements for their loyalty, which is quite reasonable considering who these settlers are dealing with, and that at least they aren't losing their independence without a compensation or agreement of sorts. Now a flaw in this argument may be the fact that they are raiders, and their only goal is to raid, kill, and pillage. Now, Gage himself said in the game that these raiders all have goals, and priorities. They aren't any normal raiders. If there is an asset to them and their land, ex; "Traders, Large Cities, Population etc..." they will leave them alone, unless provoked otherwise . They would likely leave all other settlements alone unless there is an approval by their leaders or the Overboss to assault them, destroy them, etc... The difference between them and Commonwealth Raiders is that the Nuka World raiders have actual plans for conquest and control. They have actual effective methods for a steady supply of food, and clean water. Last of all, they are united under a banner of sorts. Once they are out of Nuka World, bad blood between the two remaining raider factions would eventually cease. The next problem would be, "What would happen if you, the SS died?" I could see the two remaining factions having some sort of bad blood, however I do not see them turning on each other and having a large war. The one thing in the game ourselves that we see in that would provide a sense of nationalism with the Nuka World Raiders is the raiding of the Power Plant by the least favored faction. This major conflict would provide a unity with the two remaining loyal factions, as they fight together against the enemy, dying in the battlefield together. When it comes to the population who doesn't fight and live in the vassal settlements, I can see these people being free people under whatever citizenship of this raider kingdom. Now with the slaves, the Pack themselves have that saying that "nobody is a slave that doesn't want to be" *Something along those lines* means that I think they choose the bunch of people who causes a "raider kingdom" trouble. I can see slaves working, and buying themselves their freedom. However this is just my theory of what would happen in a few years of the raids into the commonwealth, and their further establishments in the territory. They would setup some sort of Feudal Society, with well protected territory. The way I see it, the Raiders could become a Feudal-Reasonable-Democratic Caesar's Legion. One thing to note, if there was ever two raider factions canonical to this ending "imo" would have to be the Disciples and the Pack. I looked at the trailer, and noticed that when they showed off the parks, the Disciples would have the Bottling Plant and Galactic Zone, while the Pack in control of Safari Adventure, Dry Rock Gulch, and Kiddie Kingdom. I think this is a gray topic, but I can see the raiders becoming a unified Feudal-Free Kingdom with each raider faction eventually sporting combat armor, with their original logos and symbols on their armor, to distinguish themselves. Like if you think this would make an interesting video.

I'm betting he asks if you are lost when you enter that first storefront because that's the "Lost Child" holding area. In the shop, (so you'll feel greatful and buy one of the toys that the kid has become attached to while waiting for you,) easy to find, near the entrance of a children's themepark. The employees would keep them here and page the parents on the PA. Hence him saying "Aw, are you lost?" as if speaking to a child.

And also, there is the way to go right, after entering the Southern entrance, if you look properly, you will notice a wooden fence and the metal door right behind it, you actually able to hop over the fence, at least I did (no mods had been used for this), just jump a lot and eventually you will do this, it is the shortest way to the Employee's tunnels

Great Videos Ox.. Bit of advice... one stealth to another... When sniping go for the head. You take the time to line up the shot, so why not just aim a little higher. (Loads better damage and use less ammo.)

I always thought that Oswald was Herman's son. The Kid who walks out into the radiation storm, never said he died. Says he got healed, first stage of becoming a ghoul. He lived 200+ years in the park his dad worked at, until the sole survivor turns up.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but if you go to kiddie kingdom for the first time wearing power armor Oswald will make a wizard of oz reference calling you the tin man. If I'm not mistaken he also mentions Dorothy and the scarecrow as well.

I believe that Bethesda used Disneyland resorts for inspiration when creating this part of Fallout 4. Disneyland has a machine that pumps out the smell of various foods. and that could be the idea for the radiation sprayers.

kinda wild how the fun house expected prewar families (with children and elderly people) to be able to JUMP across the spinning nuka cola bottles. It seems easy for me, but I couldn't say the same for the mother with the stroller.

i have a tactic that i use where i just keep pressing the vats button constantly it may get annoying but it helps so when you don't see anything it will catch it on vats so you know where it is at and i call it the wasteland vats.

So go with me on this one. Ghouls heal from radiation. They go feral because of radiation eating away at their higher brain functions. It might theoretically be possible to come up with some way to make the radiation regenerate the damaged brain tissue like it does the rest of the body. The ghoul would still not remember a lot of stuff, but it would be like recovering from a stroke, except actually better. A modified strain of the FEV might do it.

I mean if Barrows's research is correct, you would just need a way to improve the delivery of oxygen to the tissue, or a effect similar, to avoid the necrosis element of ghoulification. So in theory one could develop a treatment for ghoul that worst case would prevent them from going feral but best case allow their abnormally strong healing factor to regrow their skin. Ferals could be treated to if the necrosis is the root of them going feral, but then it would be the brain that decayed so they could just be as feral even if restored due to the lost memory, social skills, so on.

Those two Y blocks next to the bed could be a subtle refference to the skyrim symbol

The voice has got to be a ghoul he has a raspy voice, somehow got close enough to feral ghouls to paint them, "He and his boys love radiation" (his boys being ferals)

The reason it says you must have your clothes on for this ride is because the kiddie kingdom is filled with water sprayers reused for radiation sprayers

I was at the Bowling Alley in Far Harbor a couple days ago and I killed at least ten legendary ghouls. I don’t understand where they all come from.

Triple spawn legendary = Rarest enemy encounter, had the same thing happen in vanilla with some mongrels

Cure for ghoulism would be a nice idea for Fallout 5 or a spin-Off, like New Vegas. The player start pre-war as human, turn into a ghoul and face prejudice while looking for a cure. It would be a cool change of pace.
