I have a dumb theory but what if the reason why they are so sadistic and insane is because they died in horrific ways killed a fat gambling serial killer who threw barrel into a barrel and filled in with water drowning then lock had his hand locked into a car until his arms came off and shock was shoved into a electrical room to die and that fat gambling serial killer is oogie boogie
