This show was my JAM when I was a kid (I was born in 79). I wanted to be Stacy so bad and my sister was like Renee...can't believe I actually remember their names...

I loved this show growing up and all the side stories and how despite being a kids show, had great valuable life lessons. It had great fake-realism and the fashion was great lol.

Wow, I had forgotten how much I liked this show because I had 100% forgotten it! And the lip syncing is excruciating in some of them but still fun!

This makes my heart happy. Now I need to go watch the Tig Notaro bit about Taylor Dayne!

I always thought it was interesting the way Disney would pick and choose what lines to censor on certain songs. On this one, they didn't seem to have an issue with the line "I can feel my body rock every time you call my name", though it certainly leaves little to the imagination.

This was always a favorite song of mine from the teenaged Stacy. That was one of my favorite outfits and hairstyles on her too. The only complaint I have ever had with this video is that the cinematographers pulled away from watching the stage during the dance routine. You rarely saw Stacy dance with the dancers as that was always something Martika did. I really wish I could've seen the dance instead of Richie and Red.

Although... it was always lip-syncing... the kids all sang their songs and of course, it was pre-recorded.
