I've watched this video so many times and I cannot tell you how impressive the small amount of toys is. That tiny black cube holding all their stuffies was 🤯🤯 We have a stuffies invasion

Oh wow that is great to hear because sometimes I feel like we still have way too much. The rule I made for our home is everything has to fit into their room, if it doesn't fit then something must go. So sometimes it can look kinda crowded in there, but if it's fitting and functioning they can keep it. p.s. The stuffed animal collection is something they will not let go of, they are attached to every single stuffed thing so I have told them we can't add anymore to that. =)

Nice work on the boys room. They're lucky to have everything current instead of piles of mystery stuff (like my house). What you are doing to keep things simple is being noticed by them and is teaching them how to organize. Someday your daughters-in-law will thank you. Love MOM

I love how simple their room is! I watch lots of kid's toys decluttering videos, and MOST of them , even after getting rid of some toys are STILL so chock full, it gives me anxiety! I feel so SORRY for the moms, spending hours sitting through tons of tiny Barbie accessories and shopkins etc, and yet still hanging on to so much that just gets dumped out and strewn all over! If only they could understand the power of less, and the fact that kids play longer and better without so many!

We use to have so many toys! I was that mom that spent half the day dealing with sorting toys, now I love how quick and easy it is to tidy up. If it was up to me we would probably have even less, but my boys and husband really do play with everything.

I switched out my 5 year olds wardrobe today and it went super fast! Thank you so much for saying that it's ok to just put it all in the drawer and figure it out as you go. I pulled out the pile of summer clothes that I had saved, quick looked through them, pulled anything out that I was sure wouldn't work and put the rest in the drawer, same with pjs and her closet hanging items. In the past I would have tried to have her try things on and she just doesn't cooperate and I get frustrated. I'll just pull things as I see they don't fit her now! Super happy with all the small projects I got done today! Heather

For pajama pants, I cut them into pajama shorts and hem the bottom so we get more use from them

Shannon I just love how you have your boys' room set up. I love the gray curtains against the white walls and the wood bed frames. I love how organized and simple their closet is. That's exactly how I would have done it too. I used to have my daughter's room extremely organized too when she was a young child. I miss those days! She is a newlywed and just bought their first house and now she has her house all organized & simplified too! :)

I don't have a dedicated video on that, but all we have is : cars, trains, duplo, lego and one bin of random things (action figures, dr set, etc). Plus we have some age appropriate games. 😀

Living in australia we dont have winter winter so i wear same clothes all year round. The only thing i swap is my winter pjs to summer i only havw two of each though. The rest jeans leggings shorts and short soeeve tees and jackets i keep all year round out as like said all light weight clothes

Same! I have a slightly warmer coat I put in a difficult to access draw during summer, otherwise it's all the same all year round

My kids hate the top sheet too because it always gets twisted up so I gave up putting that flat sheet on their beds. What do you do for the top blanket and how often you wash that? My kids have thicker comforters because we live where it is cold so it would not be easy to wash that weekly and they would get really worn out looking and clumpy.

I honestly don't wash that top blanket very often, (I should probably wash it more) but my kids take a bath and wear clean pjs each night so it stays pretty clean. Also these are very thin blankets that are easy to wash, if this was a huge comforter it probably wouldn't work.

Hi Shannon, I've watched this at least three times since you posted it. I love how organized it is because you focus on what is needed. My boys share a room and have small boxes under their bed. I love how big those boxes are for more storage. Where did you get those from? Thanks for your help!

These boxes are from Ikea, they come with lids. I decided to do away with the lids because they fell off easily and were always getting in the way. I hope you can find them online. =)

Your boys room is similar to mine. Our kids sleep in our bedroom (2 years and a few month). But my Problem is how to decide if a toy is not interessting yet or already too boring. My son is vAnd if the little one will like or dislike the same toys as the big one. How do you decide what to keep for the younger brother? Right now I have an extra bin with unwanted toys and I do not know if we should keep them or not.

Hi! That is a great question and there have probably been times where I decluttered something that maybe my younger one could have used, but my thinking is we already have enough. My boys have ended up being very different when it comes to the toys they like so I haven't had any regrets when it comes to decluttering toys. I hope you are doing well.

Yes they use regular twin mattress. I don't really like the Ikea mattress options, so I know it fits a regular twin just find. They have held up great! I have had one of the frames for 5 years and it hasn't shown any wear or tear. The great thing is it's very affordable.
