Kidulthood is a work of art. Honestly I could write a disseratation on this film. The amazing scenes, the way characters flow together. The great acting moments. Honesty this film deserves alot more plaudits. If i want to visit a certain period of London, i can watch this and feel like im back there. I was a teen when this came out too. Didnt get the reception it deserves but this film will be seen as a treasure in the future. Menhaj Huda, Neol Clark and co, well done.
Yes it was a bit over the top, but it portrayed the times perfectly and a lot of it was real life for teenagers back then. When I watch scenes from this I'm transported back in time.
This film reminds me of being a teenager. The ones that spent their time acting 'hard', behaving like these characters never went anywhere in life. This crap they come out with for being this way's nonsense. It's got nothing to do with having no opportunities, or coming from a deprived neighborhood. It's down to sheer laziness - Being more concerned with material objects, acting like their sad excuses for role models, and drink/drug taking, instead of getting your head down and working hard.
You can die from a baseball bat to the stomach, it can rupture your organs and cause internal bleeding. I agree with you on the drugs having no effect, though.
I just watched this and it really really hit me. This film is becoming more and more real in britain. south-west london is like this PERMENENTLY. This film leaves a mark on you. This is what we need to stop in britain and all around the world. they're 15 and they have gangs/guns and drugs. It hits you hard because this is what britain is going to become if people dont do things to stop it.

Alex Matsas Media Studies is a subject that involves students analysing different film genres such as social-realism (e.g. Kidulthood, Adulthood, Bullet Boy) before making their own trailer (I uploaded mine) I analysed this film: beauchampcollegea2media2016.com/2015/07/20/kidulthood-trailer-analysis/
Yooooo! I remember seeing scenes from this being used in those vids where people will take a hot song (in this case We Takin Over by Khaled) & play it over the movie. After all these years, I finally found the movie.
I remember watching the first hour of this film in school of all places 😂 back in July 2006. We had a supply teacher and it was the end of the year just before the summer holidays and as it was our last English lesson of the year he allowed us to watch a film. Some kids in my class tricked him into thinking this would be ok for a bunch of 13 year olds to watch haha. How he let it play for the entire hour is beyond me given the violence and sex within the first half haha . The film shocked me but I remember it well and rewatched it a couple of years later. Good times haha. Still have a vivid memory of this nearly 18 years on.

Sam wrote this film.. thats why he don't die.. in the next you it's ADULTHOOD his the main character..this is a really good film...i saw it the other night..
Its a good film and life for quite a lot of teens is like this, but i think instead of west london the movie would have been better in East like Tower Hamlets or Newham
This film moves me because it's so realistic things like this happen everyday.Oh and i do like 50 cent and all but people have had worse things done to them than being shot 9 times
this movie is raw, and gritty. watch it. the watch adulthood the sequel then watch 4.2.3.1 which was produced and directed by the same dude. HE IS AMAZING
