Let me know what you think of the RGB implementation on the KiiBoom Phantom 81. Definitely one of the best implementations I've seen so far. Thanks for watching 🙂
Hey @kittylouiselle7256, yep, it's such a beautiful keyboard. I have a few mechanical keyboards, but this one is probably my favorite. You made a great decision 👏
Hi! Thank you for the in-depth review. I was having a hard time figuring out the RGB on this keyboard and your vid happened to be the first recommend to me after searching for help. Turns out I was just pressing the wrong buttons 😅
Hey Jayce, sorry for the late reply. I just tested it and I was able to remap the "~" key to function as print screen. I couldn't figure out to use a key combination though like Ctrl + ~ to do print screen so I could retain use of "~" if I wanted to though. So yea, you can definitely remap a key to print screen if you're willing to give up home, page up, page down, etc. Thanks for watching btw 😊
Thanks for sharing! The only problem I'm having right now is downloading the software. I tried downloading the windows version but when i extract the file it shows that's it's for macOS.
Hey Nonaelle, try using link: downloads.kiiboom.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/KiiBoom_setup_1.2.65.exe_.zip You will be able to download the ZIP file, then you can open it up, extract the contents to your desktop and install it. Btw, feel free to scan the zip file with your preferred virus scanning program before you open the ZIP file if you prefer. Let me know how it goes @lueurlaneige
Hi! Thanks for making this helpful review. I'm planning to get one soon, but I'm a little worried about it turning yellow after a few months. Do you think that'll happen, with the type of material they used on both the keycaps and the case? Hoping you could help :)
Hey @jamminjammy, I can't say 100% that it won't yellow, but usually clear plastic turns yellow quicker when exposed to sunlight. I've only kept mine indoors and where I use it, it isn't near a window that gets direct sunlight, so it's been fine so far. Sorry I couldn't be of more help about it. You can also try to ask KiiBoom directly on their Instagram page about if it will yellow to be 100% sure.
What action does the rotary encoder do when you push down the button? Is there a way to use the software to bind print screen to a kay? I am having trouble with the software
Hey budlance, mine doesn't do anything when I push it down. The RGB lights flash on and off when I press down, but nothing happens and I can't map what pushing it down does in software either. If you want to take screenshots, you can press the following keys to open screen snipping in Windows. Press Windows Key + Shift + S to open Snip and you can take full or cropped screenshots.
Hey @sucalaminka, I'm not sure why that wouldn't appear. I don't have a mac to test if the same issue occurs for me, but it might be a good idea to take a screenshot of what you see and message KiiBoom on Instagram. They are fairly active on there.
bro kiiboom phantom 81 or skyloong gk75 aluminum 4 Knob. both keyboard pre-built. I'm getting both keyboard for same price. so which one would be better, please reply. also tell me the price of Skyloong gk75 aluminum, I checked it on epomaker site, it showed 170$ for the pre-built. but the switchandclick channel girl said it's about 255$ because when I google the price that time on skyloong site it shows 180$ just for kit. so if it is this expensive and if I'm getting it at same price as that of kiiboom then should I go with skyloong? but kiiboom's look I liked. I was wonder if I don't buy skyloong then what would I be Missing. - 4 knobs (i don't know if that many knobs are any good for me) - aluminum built - expensive board at kiiboom price. (bro please check the price of the pre-built) - 5.1 bluetooth. - better stabs and sound ? (I'm not sure)
Hey Srinivas Dokare, I haven't used the Skyloong GK75, so I'm not too sure how it compares. If it has 4 knobs, you'd have to see what kind of customizability their software gives you to map functions to those knobs. If all you need is a knob for volume control, then yea, you don't need 4 knobs. If the other 3 knobs can be programmed to control sliders in editing software, skip or go to previous songs, etc., then it can be useful. Skylong website shows $170 for the kit, so you have still have to buy your own switches and keycaps, so it will end up more expensive than KiiBoom Phantom. I clicked switchandclick link in her description for the Skyloong and it is the same price as $170. Maybe they dropped the price recently. So far, the KiiBoom has the best RGB effect because it is clear. The KiiBoom feels very premium even though it is not aluminum. I think the KiiBoom is a better value overall. I'm not sure if you saw my video review about the NuPhy Halo 75 and NuPhy Halo 96 keyboards. Their quality is even better than the KiiBoom Phantom, but the software is not very customizable.
Oh yea forgot about that lol. Check this image and try to click based on the arrows: drive.google.com/file/d/1czOVP99SjqdaDvc5YIdbuc8rELZYqB20/view?usp=sharing Let me know how it goes!@@marianaaguilar756
The black V2 looks grey because the casing is transparent black whereas on the V1 it's completely clear. If you want a darker look go for the V2, also the V2 has brighter RGB.
@@DemCrumblies @idylledoll I got the clear one. It looks incredible and the feel and sound is exactly the desired sound and feel. Sorry for the late reply
Hey Cosmic Pixie, the keyboard should turn off automatically after several minutes of not being typed on. How long are you noticing that it is staying on even after you stop typing? @cosmicpixie12
Hey Mina, what happens if you press and hold down the shift button and the number 2? Also, if you just press the number 2, does that button work? If neither of those work, it could be an issue with the switch or the board. You can pull the existing switch for the number 2 and use a spare switch to see if that helps. Or you can contact Kiiboom directly here support@kiiboom.com to see what they recommend before you take apart anything. You can also use this website to check if the keys register or not: www.iobit.com/en/keyboard-test.php Let me know how it goes!
I think I set it to block only urls or domains because bots post spam links, but I'm not sure why it would block just based on the word "link". I think the filter might be set to aggressive is why.
Hey @corvett_1708, was it working before? What happens if you go to this website and test the number row? keyboard-test.space/ Just trying to figure out if the keys don't work at all or if a shortcut command was pressed accidentally to turn it off. Btw, do you have the KiiBoom software installed?
@@DemCrumblies Hi, thank you for getting back. I disconnected the Bluetooth and shut my Mac off. Once I turned it back on and reconnected the keyboard the numbers keys worked! Not sure why they stopped but they are working now.
