@@umwhabecause the issue isn't the body, it's how others act about it. If trans folks were treated properly, many wouldn't choose to change their bodies because surgery is serious business and if one can learn to live with the body they have, even partially, it's far safer in the long run for health. It's the cruelty and maltreatment and stress from being treated as an other/pariah that causes a lot of people who can live with the bodies they have to have to go that route for harm reduction.

I can totally relate to Jinkx's story. I always felt like I didn't fit into the gender binary but never really knew what to call myself. I was also too scared to really let it show because I got teased and bullied bad as a kid. Now that I'm 44 I'm fully out and starting to play around with my gender presentation more.
