K Swiss There would only be a build up if your body is overworked (anaerobic energy production) and for long periods. If you are staying with in range of what your body is accustomed to (aerobic energy production) it will not produce lactate in the energy production process. So for someone as experienced as Jornet, it is not a problem.

+Martin Mikloš Just because someone hasn't made something, doesn't mean they can't comment on it. In fact, there is thing called criticism, which is exactly that. Roger Ebert is a great example of someone who reviews films, not makes them. If you want to not have any comments, why don't you just turn them off? Circus act? It is a feat of endurance and speed. Every peak of note has been climbed, doesn't mean people should stop climbing. Instead, new routes are done and/or speed ascents, winter ascents, etc, etc. Just with any sport (which climbing is), it progresses. The 100m was done when man first learnt to walk, so is sprinting a 100m a circus act? There is no point to it other than to provide entertainment and/or a sense of achievement i.e. I am the fastest in the world. This is no different, just skill required that is absent in a 100m race (which is pure athleticism).
