They had to go direct and long into fullforward line because Conlon wasn't there to set up Reidy and ODonnel. Malone should have either gone to midfield of wingback and Aiden Mccarty gone to the wing. Conlon is an expressive centre back going forward while Mcinerney isn't.
Clare were a lot of hype and hot air, they couldn't look or think past Limerick...Galway have to feel they might have an auld dog in this fight yet, they kept Killkenny to 10 points from play...And Killkenny made Clare look like an average junior A team today...After they put Limerick to the pins of their collar twice in Munster...! It's a funny auld game...
Why are people talking about the Clare direct ball into fullforward line as not working??! Hello! It hasn't worked all year and their current fullforward setup has be taken to the cleaners.
Putting Mehan on too late and not getting Ryan Taylor out to the middle showed another lapse in judgement. Nolan should have been started earlier. Kilkenny were Kilkenny, ruthless and efficient but they did tire awfully in the second half, which makes me wonder if they have much on reserve outside their starting 15.
Placing Kelly instead of Duggan on free taking duty was an awful decision. Throwing Paudi Fitzpatrick in at wing back after getting no start in either league or championship was reckless and I feel sorry for the guy. Too much wasted ball going forward and getting caught too far up the field was Paul Flannigans undoing.
@@dermotoconnell3728 ah Limerick have to get there first , and if they do , then there is the small matter of a team called Kilkenny standing in the way , this Kilkenny team are now moving up to another level, and we all know what that means .
