Thanks for the mention buddy. Love this dram. (As you know) I kinda remember the 2016 being a little more sherry rich, could just be my fudgy brain. Was this one an older Kilkerran? The newer, more recent batches seem to be more vanilla creme. Cheers Vin.

I love it when a nose pulls me in, but I can totally respect a whisky that takes more time to evolve or that improves after a few sips and the flavour takes over. Thanks!

Got given a bottle of this for my birthday, love a good Campbletown whisky and it sounds like this wont dissapoint. I like the understated presentation.

I'm definitely looking forward to opening this bottle. The trouble is with all the other bottles I'm definitely looking forward to opening...

I've been to Kilkerran and have the 12 and the cask strength. Haven't tried either, except for the dram they gave us in the Cadenhead store after the tour! I have to get stuck in!

Good Stuff Vin. I was very happy to have been to their Distillery as Well as Springbanks. The Warehouse blew my nose away! And I got to look through the Stone walls window to the old church. Very cool experience.

Hey Vin. I'm hoping you have more of this one because if you add a touch of water it's a completely different whisky. The nose changes to become very fruity and the palate gets even better. I love this stuff for only £35

Nice one Vin, as you know this distillery is close to my heart, I love anything from Kilkerran and you really should do more campbletown whiskies, Glen Scotia are doing awesome stuff now...well done pal..The Pleasure is in the Sharing....

I have about half a bottle left after getting suggested to grab a bottle. Certainly enjoyed it!

Interesting how the nose sort of misses you. I have only had a few Kilkerrans, which have been very good. I haven't tried this one yet, but have it lineup for review shortly. I'll look out for that nose - taste difference. Cheers 🙂

Aye, the Kilkerran 12's turned out to be a bit of a star. Had a few bottles of it now, love it.. Another vote for Glen Scotia, the 15 (and the 10 year old cask strength port finish Campbeltown Whisky festival special) in particular. Interestingly Edinburgh Airport have a 1lt 16 y Glen Scotia on sale for £75 , which is a similar price to the 15 once factored up from 70cl to 1lt, (the star of the Edinburgh airport/UK.World Duty Free, showing on their website so should be available throughout the UK, at the moment has to be the Isle of Arran 10y for £43 (1lt 46% NCF NC) but thats going to have to wait until next week ;)

I wish i hadnt finished my bottle before doing reviews. I would have loved to share my review on this. It is a great whisky

If this had been the first Scotch I'd ever tasted, I would say, "This is how Scotch is supposed to taste." Lagavulin 16 was my first favorite, but this is is superb.

Thanks for the review, I can see you enjoyed it :) I especially like how the sweet smoke turns to a more dry fruity finnish. It took me awhile to figure out the last flavors to be almonds and cranberry. Even more so with a splash of water. Cheers!
