6:25 lol im replaying dl2 on ng+ right now and i split Hakon in half with my machette and im like, well this wasn't suppose to happend, i wont get a good ending now (wanted to get the good ending with Lawan), but he's intact in the custscene after the fight, man i love this game xD

For everyone saying they cannot save Hakon, I think to get the best possible outcome you need to first remove the arrow from Hakon, then later on side with frank in the tower mission, then go meet Frank and you have the option to talk about Lawan and the night runners creed and how balance is important. I chose to fight Hakon when he first appeared in the church, I defeated him, however before leaving the church he’s still alive and you have the chance to fight him again (This fight would result in his actual death). To spare him chose “I don’t want to fight anymore”. Lawan shows up and You have to then convinced her to spare him. She then allows him to leave. From what I understand this allows her to join the night runners (which she always wanted) as she finally achieved the balance that Frank was talking about. I’m guessing if Hakon chooses to hit Lawan and leg it it’s probably because you didn’t talk to Frank about the night runners and Lawan. Hope this helps guys!

I'd say that since he arrived in the city some of the quests I did, in the end he ended up punched in the face before fighting against someone you didn't agree to help or... When I did this and me and Hakon fought, I thought I killed him so I quit my game and googled what I did wrong. Turns out I’m a fucking idiot and all I had to do was exit the church for him to pop back up so I could talk him out of a third fight. I’m a stupid bastard sometimes.

Hakon is definely one of my favourite character although he a traitor I still feel bad for him since he helped you so much at the beginning saving you and helping you get a biomarker I just couldn't let myself do it

Dude is out here casually defeating enemies with one blow. Idk how the hell he did it or even leveled up his weapons so far at this point in the game but, good job, I guess. My bow is at 36 damage and my best weapon is 129 damage…

yo, i did this to the tee, but when i was consoling lawan, instead of Hakon getting up and saying sorry, he bonks her on the fucking head with the back of his axe and runs away

Sp yeah its not giving me the choice to have hakkon stand down. I get the first choice to tell him i dont want to fight. But i dont get the second choice it just makes me fight him to the death. I did save him from lawan and was nice to him through the game.

Me and my friend got to this fight we beat him but he used stump on his head so his head exploded so we thought we messed up and then we decided to roll back and lost like two days worth of play and that’s just for me my friend got reset to the beginning of the game

Im playing the game on new game+ the last time i played the dtory wss when the game cameout. So when i chopped all the peices of hakon i got so scared (i got the bad ending last time) so i wanted the good ending

Dude In my second playthrough I did what most of y'all are saying. I beat stomped his head twice and I said I didn't wanna fight but was still forced to kill him.

At my ending of the game Hakon and Lawan end up being friends and survive but Jack matt dies. I'm gonna play this game again and try to make someone else survive like Jack Matt.

But I did the not fighting him option but he still wanted to fight

If someone got problems with killing him by accident. Get him to 30% hp then switch to just your fist to knock him out. That's how i did it.
