Welcome to Episode 8 of our Kill Team Battle Report series! In this match, James leads Liegionaries, against Dakotah running the new Death Korps! We are playing a competative match on Dakotah's new Vulkus terrain. Dakotah has started practicing for worlds this comming November, and is trying to get better with Death Korps. Is Death Korps really that bad? Join us as we learn the new edition, break down the strategies, tactics, and some fun banter along the way.

Thanks for filmin this match! I cant play as often and was really wondering what a supposedly S tier team looks like against a horde team. Especially against death korps!

I think Seek Light doesnt remove the ability to retain save from Cover. Atleast that is how i interpret the last part of the text.

The rule is extremely poorly worded: "Seek: When selecting a valid target, operatives cannot use terrain for cover. If the rule is Seek Light, operatives cannot use Light terrain for cover. Whilst this can allow such operatives to be targeted (assuming they're visible), it doesn't remove their cover save (if any)." To me it remains unclear what "cannot use terrain for cover" means. Apparently - judging from the last sentence - using cover for "cover saves" is not implied. But then again you could argue that the last sentence of the rule only applies to "Seek (Light)", and not to "Seek". So what's the consensus on this rule? "Seek" gets rid of cover saves, while "Seek (Light)" does not? It seems as if "Seek" was intended to replace the "Indirect" rule from the old KT 1:1. So this would suggest it ONLY applies to target selection and does not affect cover saves at all.

52:25 I don't understand this interaction, maybe I missed something earlier and not having actual equipment pieces/tokens on the board makes it hard to keep track. Legionary wants to pop through the door to shoot Death Korps. Death Korps player says the Kriegsman is concealed in cover? But he absolutely isn't. To get concealment from cover you need to be in control range of the terrain AND it needs to be intervening. Unless there was an invisible heavy barricade the Legionary should have been able to make this shot, no? Also, I see that it's strong, but not understanding how razor wire is broken.

Great observation, on my mdf terrain there is a smallfoot that comes out that you can hide a model behing at different points within the stronghold. Its hard to catch on the overhead cam. The model was in heavy cover and on conceal. The raver wire was more that 2 inches away so he couldnt use the 2 inch rule either. If youtube let me post pictures id post a picture here. Ok I see the corner on the terrain now. I could see the Kriegsman squishing himself into that corner to not get shot. So the position of the razor wire also made so the Legionary had no way to make it far enough through the door to get the 2 inch rule, so he has to get on the vantage to make the shot. Now I understand!

Hi! A question about the doors: when the shrivetalon uses move + dash to stay behind the door, I can't, because the control range and visibility works between the door, right? So he has to charge. And then he can do Hatchway fight

that happens when you nerf piercing (especially plasma), change from 6 to 3 objectives, introduce victory points for killing AND give elites tools for MORE survivability (even ignoring piercing at times)
