Did the road-test package with Sebastian for class 5. It was a great experience - he had a very positive approach to providing feedback. Passed the test with ease. Overall, I found the lessons to be good value for money - and as a bonus, I got to have many interesting conversations along the way. Sidenote: he is a Tesla fan (make of it what you will).

I must say that this was the best idea given it to me from a professional driving school instructor to watch before going to my exam! On Thursday at 2pm I booked my class 5 exam over the phone for Friday at 8:35am and so I watched this video for about 3 times and guess what!? I Passed!

Thanks for the video man, just passed my test today!!. My other teacher from TD driving also recommended me to "overdo" the shoulder check to be more noticeable. That was one of the observations I got. I had a great very clear reviewer too.

Thanks for making this video. I got taken on most of route 1 and passed! I haven’t passed anything from ICBC on the first try until now. Lol The tester did make a comment about turning right onto Hastings and that bus lane. He said it’s only an HOV lane from 3-6, so I should have turned onto it, then switched lanes. Oh well! I still passed! Hooray!

It was my first attempt so I was really nervous, but watching your videos made me feel more confident. It's actually not illegal to change lanes in an intersection. I was surprised too when I found out from my Class 1 instructor. It's stupid and dangerous in most cases, but it's not actually illegal.

15:25 so wild seeing my place of work in someone elses video haha I've been driving for over 20 years, continuously, every day, all day for the most part. But I'm still on my N, having not been able to pass my Class 5 several times now in the mean time. Every time the examiner gets in my passenger door, my mind goes blank, I stutter a lot, and I can barely focus. Yet, when there's not an examiner in my vehicle, well lets just say I've had people purposly choose me to drive their kids to things because they know and trust my driving, even above theirs. Driving is second nature to me, it honestly feels like breathing. But again, once my passenger is in there to judge every eye shift I make, I may as well never have driven before 🙄

Thanks for the educational video! Two questions if you don't mind. 1) At 6:37 after you turned onto Grandview Highway, I am not able to find any speed limit sign anywhere on google map, is it safe to assume we will keep driving at 50km/h? 2) At 9:54 there is the "School zone" sign on the right, does that mean we have to reduce the speed to 30km/h? About question 1 - what I meant was, at 6:37, does that location already counts as the highway at which you could start speeding up to 80 or 90km right after the turn, or it should still be the normal 50km/h until you reach closer to highway at like 6:50 which you then speed up to match the traffic? Thanks!

I don’t like the idea of someone giving me directions as we drive. I rather have a location given to me so i can plan my route accordingly. Thats how i would drive in a non test situation. I almost find this method of testing a bit dangerous

Thanks!!! Some people fail for going 35km in a school zone and some pass for going 40km in a school zone so yeah...there are no standards!!!!!!

If I might speculate here: Applicant 1 had already failed due to a combination of demerits and a dangerous action before they were half way through. At the end of the test, the DE makes sure that they're aware of the numerous errors and given them an idea of what they need to work on/take instruction in. Very helpful Applicant 2 only made that one significant error, failing to slow early enough on one of the three PG zones! Otherwise, observation was excellent, as well as all aspects of driving behaviour and vehicle control. Sebastian, do you want absolutes? If so, the Fail rate will climb evern higher. Or do you want common sense? I'll let you think about that. Oh, and keep in mind that you figure DE's have the discretion to allow 90 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, and teach this to your C5 students. So apparently you have no standards?

why would dash cams have to be turned off? I had a few questionable calls during my drive and the cam would have allowed me to see what the deal was. I feel that the examiner has the advantage over you and this way they cover their ass for a mistake of their own for example.
