Nice. Most people don't know there are different types of Phillips screws(1, 2, and 3). Most people strip out 1, and 3 with a 2 screwdriver. the horseshoe thing is just a snap ring(not sure what specific type). Great work keep the vids coming!!!!

Hello! Great work on the cabinet. Sry to hear that you needed to replace the orig. artwork. I'll did this with mine a little while ago and was lucky the sticker didn't come off. Mine had that nasty smell too when i'll took the controlpanel appart. Who knows how much beer has been spilled over it... 🙈 So i cleaned all the parts before it becomes new buttons and switches. Its a great game and i love to have the cab. in my collection. 😊

You've probably already done all the rust repair of the hardware you were going to do, but you can buy rust dissolver for those bolts to get rid of that rust before you paint. Eastwood even makes it in a gel for parts you cant soak, like that hinge.(just be sure to cover it with cling wrap or something like that to prevent evaporation of the product) It works pretty well. Brings the metal back to an almost like new finish. And especially if you are going to paint them, no one would ever be able to tell they grew rust in the 1st place.

Such a great job man. So glad to see that a true fan has an actual KI cabinet. Happy for you. Also, for that 4 digit price tag for the arcade1up pro, I would totally consider it IF it had an exact copy of the original game, with the Midway and Nintendo as part of the intro.

Thanks for showing how to open the control panel!! FYI, I just picked up my first REAL arcade cabinet. It wasn't exactly what I would have wanted but still a great game for an amazing price. Cruis N' World for $275. She's rough, has some issues and needs a good amount of elbow grease but I'm so excited to get this thing healthy and working how it should. Hopefully I can figure out a way to keep this working with the original PCB but multicade it for the purpose of driving game emulation (Sega Rally Championship, Daytona USA, SCUD Race, SF Rush series to name a few). Have to wait till summertime though to do any major work on it. It was -20 F in MN this morning. Hard to work in that. Even in a heated garage it's just hard to be outside and doing much in this weather lol.

If you use your gut to push in the joystick you then can use one hand to depress the microswitch collar and your other had to easily clip the pin to the bottom of the stick. Seriously, it works

this cabinet really has a lot of character and history we had killer instinct on a homemade cabinet the game was original the owner put warnings on the cabinet saying if you smoke we will turn off the game hahaha

You didn’t have to go through all the work to label the wiring. In the test menu, you can go to switch input I believe and when you push the switch, it shows you on screen which one is being pressed and you can then move the wiring to that particular button location.

I dont have any KI cab but I really enjoyed this video! Im hoping to eventually pick up a A1Up KI. May I ask what equipment you use to record your videos(camera, mic, etc.) All your videos are always crisp and clear both audibly and visibly. Thanks

Hey brother I can’t remember what video it was where you are discussing this issue but I have the same pc set up you do with launch box & my pc did a update & now NFL blitz 2000 is running sluggish. Never had this problem before the update, would you happen to know how to fix this issue?

I always wonder, how does it feel to play games on original arcade controls in comparison to keyboard on PC or to gamepad on consoles. Cause i never played on arcade controls. But people who tried to play on original arcade cabinet told me that, playing even fighting games on arcade controls is difficult because of the joystic. Like, you push it to the left or to the right and it could push itself down or up when you do that, does making you do stuff in games that you didn't want to do. But yeah, you know what they say: if you never try by youself then you will never know. So i would love to try to play some games on original arcade controls, like Mortal Kombat for example to feel it by myself and find out, how comfortable it is.
