as a concert vibraphonist, i always get so impressed by seeing jazz vibraphonists playing really fast, like i can play fast but not THAT fast and that accurate
I still don't get why we don't just write the actual rhythms for swing; it's probably really confusing for new people when they see it written straight.
Because there’s not really a way to write it that can accurately represent how it should sound yk like if we wrote it out as triplet rhythms and you played exactly that it wouldn’t sound like swing. Writing it as 8th notes instead also makes the music much clearer, easier, and faster to read.
