What do you mean by everywhere? I thought it was only a game and halloween horror nights, i thought this was never anything more than a cool cult classic that scared me as a baby.
I saw it as a 80s teen when I saw it on cable. And "Where" they came from was never a "Key piece of information" for me ? In fact I never even considered it until you mentioned it. And even now I don't care. I simply enjoyed the movie. And I hate clown because I have a clownphobia ! lol
@@texasborn2720 Hey same here! With the Klowns back in pop culture from Halloween stores to a new video game, people are actually seeking out MORE from the Killer Klowns....which is alright by us!
They filmed this in my hometown...My best friend Mike mainly played "Spikey." although they switched from time to time...He got to do the balloon dog gag...which was the best thing in the movie...Nobody bothered to look at the trail he did it at...he had very little vision and tripped over some branches and tumbled down a big hill. All they cared about was whether he screwed up the clown costume. Also. the first time he put it on it almost killed him...since he couldn't breathe. Spikey got a Fukco Pop last year...so I told Mike that he finally made the big time.
@@HanzoHatt I kinda agree with u on that....but it's so easy to make Syfy could do it....I just need them to come back to earth ..but if Netflix does try to make it....I hope it's still set in the 80s
Remember watching this movie a lot during the early 90's on HBO. Would be great to see several sequels to see them rif on other cinematic clowns and expand upon the lore.
@@MRob6971 the film is very tame ( don’t remember any swearing, blood, or nudity). Just saying if they wanted to do sequel in 2020’s it would have to be a different take. As much as I love the original, if they made a sequel in the same tone it would probably be panned by the general audience?
@@IronWolf277 it had the use of “fuck” about two times, some light bloody gore and that scene with the pizza delivery, the girls blouse was see through. I just thought it was ironic, since any other movie at the time, the MPAA would have thrown a fit. I mean they gave Army of Darkness an R-rating and that was the tamest of all the Evil Dead films.
Jebus, I remembered hearing about talks of a sequel for this movie for like centuries now. Everytime someone mentions a sequel is close to coming, it never end up happening.
I wouldn't say Jumbo is the de facto leader of the Klowns, given that he barely shares any screentime with the others. If anyone's the de facto leader of the Klowns It's probably either Slim or Rudy
I'm old. I remember seeing this in the theater with my friends and friggin loving it! I can't even count how many people I have recommended this movie too. It's about damn time Killer Klowns got some love! ❤️
This movie alongside RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD are my top favorite "fun 80s horror" films. Not super dark or gory or harsh, just good fun through and through with great soundtrack and practical effects. They totally nailed the atmosphere.
The Chiodo Brothers have been wanting to make a sequel but they also want to make it a big over arching universe with them having ideas for a TV show as well.
Bro we better get a killer klowns 2 it's literally a classic that doesn't need to be handled to seriously but seriously enough to respect the fans and that's not hard all we want is what we got in the original Also I think the nature of the klowns should stay ambiguous, it'll be talked about for years
I mean, I don't really think we have to know every detail about the background of the klowns, but having some information here and there would be pretty cool.....just so that we have more to work on about them.
The Dickies! That's the first thing I think about when I see this movie or see one of those clowns 🤡. They picked the perfect band to do the theme song because the Dickies are bazaar as well love it. Also I don't think this movie is as obscure as the video says. I've always been aware of it and it's played on TV once in awhile since the 90s
If the game succeeds I know we will get to witness Killer Klowns become the next big thing. It’ll probably even get to be milked like the fast and furious and the walking dead 😂
Those three decades are about to be four decades just some years off, if cheeoto want to make a new sequel to the horror/comedy classic they can always fundraise for the movie i’m sure that if they do that they won’t be so low on funding for the sequel i’m sure they have other ways of getting funding for their movies too in a good way, never underestimate the brothers!
That video game looks insane I want to buy a PlayStation 5 just to play that game! I remember seeing it on VCR.My Mom made fun of that movie, but I thought it was great.
I like how Halloween Horror Nights showed them for 3 years 2018 (scarezone in Universal Studios Orlando), 2019 (Maze and Haunted House for Orlando and Hollywood), and 2022 (Only Hollywood)
I love movies like this before they started filming movies in front of green screens hey stop doing that it’s such trash the whole movie industry has completely lost their soul and creativity.
Actually some Klowns do look like and actually they’re were made to be similar. Actually ever klown uses a head sculpt and there was Tiny, Ozob, Killer, and Bubbles. So what they would do is swap out Klowns and they’re ears. For example Spikey and Slim both use the Ozob head template but Slim uses the Killer ears (The ones that Jumbo has) Some females are put into balloons because the balloons act like refrigerators incase there’s a lot of cocoons.
We need to make countless online petitions for more films for Chiodo Bros to make. Till MGM or whatever studio owns the rights makes it happen. I wanna know more of the klowns background, more details of how human girls being turned into alien klowns in one or two ways. Us fans need to unite and do whatever it takes for more films to come.
I love cheesy movies and horror movies so the movie has always had a close place to my heart and I love the fact that the more time passes the more people are learning about this masterpeace
Crikey ! I watched as a 19 year old when it came out and I found it to be brilliant and really funny. What a great take on a comedy horror. The rest is all new to me. Thanks for the info, I did watch it again a few years back (2-3) with my wife but she thought it silly so went to bed to read 🤣 A videogame ? I'm in ! 🤡🥳🎉
This movie is one part of the reason for choosing my username and avatar. Another is the album "Return of the Fabulous Metal Bozo Clowns" by Lawnmower Deth. Mix in a few other influences at the time and "Psyko Klown was born".
"Killer Klowns" and "Buckaroo Banzai" BOTH desperately need a "ReQuel" or series or something! 80s cult flicks with goofy Horror/Sci-Fi ethos are bad ass. Take "Evil Dead"!
...If you've naught seen this movie, I must say you are missing something that's really crazy. WHO would've/could've thought of making such a movie?????
I'm gonna straight up hipster this: in '89, I was goth street kid, and we all knew about this movie. My 18th bday was a house party, and we rented this, hellraiser 2, Argento's Demons and Lair Of The White Worm. Cool kids always loved this movie.
I remember my dad driving me & my friends up to the movie theater to see Killer Klowns from outer space. I remember him asking us what movie we were going to see. He said Killer 🤣🤣🤣🤣what's 🤣🤣🤣🤣 from 🤣🤣🤣where?🤣🤣🤣. Or something to that effect.
I remember back in the early 2000s when Blockbuster was still around, this movie would always tempt us, but for whatever reason we never pulled the trigger on it and rented it. THEN, I don't know how I finally watched it, I want to say Netflix, and having a subscription to that was like; "fuck it, I'm here anyways might as well." By that time the friends I was going to rent it with had arleady seen it and said it was good, though we have very different taste in horror. They're more trashy and I'm more cerebral. They like their gore fest, I'm gothic. BUT it's a fun silly movie that knows what it is.
we give you the stick you give it a lick!!! ice cream, ice cream, it'll tickle you all the way down! by the way i finally realized, earlier in the movie sergeant moony tells Dave, "nobody is going to make a dummy outta me" then JUMBO makes him a dummy on his lap.
@@letsscream yeah, and i'm all for it! The killer klowns movie always was quite charming, even if it is quite old. It's awesome hold old ass stuff like this can become popular again...
Ummm, they’re killer klowns from outer space. Classic horror movies especially cult classics always hold up well. They’re popular again now because of the announcement of the game and their appearance at Horror nights
They should make part two of the movie. We need to no what happened to them..like Howard the Duck.they should make part two of that move to.yes or no 😎💙👽😇😎😍😘
Hope there isn't a sequel because the charm of 1988 cheap movies is exactly what makes the movie 'so bad it's good'. Just stick the merch out there, make video games, etc. Just don't ruin it and make another movie please.
I remember stumbling across this movie on channel 5 on a random Saturday afternoon in the late 90s. My sister and I thought it was both scary and hilarious. I mentioned it to my friends later, and nobody had ever heard of it.
Not honoring this movie with an Oscar for best film of the year was the beginning of the end of the Academy Awards. You just have to look at the Oscars decline in viewership for proof.
Suffice to say they noticed us as the clown is the Prehistoric rendition of policing. Note comedy & martial artistry. Note sobriety. My theory is that a insane Artificial intelligence was infested by a bacteria & in it's final throes of lucidity prior to symbiosis reflected on prehistoric policing hoping for the sake of it.
Don't forget the Popcorn that turns into Little Shop of Horrors Also the main people died because they got hit with acid pies at the end of Killer Klowns 1 Don't take the Mark! (666)
Interesting concept... That could really go either way. In the first film, it makes sense... but expanding the storyline to a second, I bet they modify that concept some.
