No - the ones in captivity should be cared for the rest of their lives, as they can't survive out in the wild. But once they've passed, I agree, shut down all marine parks that keep/kept such animals in captivity....
@leavewildinwild + Then they should either go there - or be released into the wild to let nature deal with them as nature sees fit. They ARE being mistreated & disrespected in the situation they're in.
They are under the water most of the time so they wouldn't be able to hear it, it would be louder for the performers, plus Orca's don't hear like we do, they communicate through water 😃

Having forced to live and swim in a giant bath tub in their own (yes I know it has a filteration in place) feces & urine, they were more than happy to share with humans a taste of their cruel circumstances
Disgusting abusing these poor creatures for financial profit, anyone who goes and pays to watch this abuse for entertainment is seriously disturbed! If these poor animals could speak they would beg you to let them go free!
I wonder if they keep just hungry enough so they perform. I imagine they wouldn’t be motivated on a full stomach. It seems to me they get fed pretty little for their size. Who knows?
Several former trainers have said that they are indeed kept hungry because food is the only way to control them for training. The two Blackfish documentaries are very informative about the orcas living conditions. I just recently watched the second one.
This is soooo sad and completely savage. It's a disgrace that the owners of this park could care less about these whales. It's a damn shame. None of these Whales are healthy. Look at their crooked fins. I know the trainers do care for these whales...I never ever wish any harm on any of them. However I wouldn't mind throwing all the owners of this giant cage in the water with these beautiful creatures and see what happens.
Not gonna lie l don't agree with putting wild animals into these kinds of exhibits. But in the case that they were rescued as a baby, then I could kinda see why they have no choice but to stay in these places. One thing I learned is that once you make any animal domesticated when they are still in their infant stages, they could NEVER return back to the wild as that would be EXTREMELY CRUEL. It would be cruel because they simply don't know how to survive on their own in the wild and would die off pretty quickly. And in these places, the trainers feed them and so everything for them, so they are accustomed to that. Once it's taking away, they wouldn't know what to do.
All those people who have paid to watch this travesty should be ashamed. LEAVE THESE BEAUTIFUL CREATURES IN THE WILD, where they belong. My heart breaks for these whales
Shamu couldnt speak the same dialect as the ones he was kept with , she was taken at 3 years old while whalers killed her mother - she was screaming and her mother wouldn’t leave she fought to the death to save her baby . Shamu was kept in solitary confinement basically a cargo container size tank full of water in the pitch black for days as punishment if he didn’t perform well .. watch black fish . Shamu was a traumatised kid who grew into a confused adolescent and kept with two other orcas from different pods they couldn’t communicate and terrified and frightened .
It's atrophy from being so close to the sunlight & the surface all the time, as well as eating a diet of dead fish their whole lives, instead of hunting live prey.

I would never take my children or step foot in that horrible place .. its wrong to use a poor whales for entertainment just for idiots to scream amd get excited over the whales misery.. can't they see this is animal abuse 😳 obviously not or they don't give a shit ... if everyone stopped going to these parks and paying them they won't exist but people are just to stupid to realise it . 🙄
It shows you have never seen the way they preform. They are not forced to do anything. If they won’t do the routines the trainers will simply fill the gap with information and the trainers doing their own entertaining. The playfulness and enjoyment they express is awe inspiring.
It's SICKENING how these beautiful creatures are used for human entertainment!! STOP attending these shows that contribute to animal cruelty! Set them free!!
OK I want to set the record straight here. Yes it is unfair to keep these beautiful animals in captivity. Many marine parks however get these animals when they're sick or injured. And they get them back to where they're healthy but many times they are unable to be released back into the wild due to either a sickness or an injury that will end up ultimately killing them if released. Do I think that they should be Used for entertainment purposes like this no. However, dolphins, whales, seal lions, seals all love interaction with each other and they all live in large groups. Many of them love to entertain their fellow family members and friends. In many ways the animals do love to entertain the humans, but there are those times that obviously they don't.

Actually, you need to do better research. Pretty much everything you said is not true. These majestic beings are ripped from their families and sold for top dollar to these b*llshit corporations like Sea world, aquariums etc., who tell you a bs story like you just typed, (i use to believe that crap too) however, it is solely about profits. There are many documentaries, past employees which have shown the actual truth to these corpate lies. I will never step foot in sea world, aquariums or anything else that capitalism on a living being.
These places should be forced to close down these animals should be in the sea with there families and be free not in swimming pools people if you want to see these lovely animals then save up your money and go see them with there families in there home the sea because all you are doing when you go to these places is just piling up others greed bottom line is they don't really care about the animals it's the money they bring in and for these animals to eat they have to do tricks they are kept in these little tanks for money these animals are taken away from there families and there homes then kept in these little swimming pools for the rest of there life's these animals are not house pets so stop treating them like they are they belong in the sea not for profit end off
Please, please! Stop going to the ridiculous shows. The noise alone is enough to cause distress to these poor animals. I don't understand why people take their children to these shows. What is that teaching them. That it's acceptable to see these beautiful majestic animals perform tricks to entertain humans. When these animals should be in the wild with other whales, hunting and finding food naturally. Close these dreadful marine parks down for ever!
Set the orcas dolphins and the rest of the animals free back to there home where they belong stop paying to go see cruelty the animals are so unhappy stupid sealife centre's isn't there home it's for greed end off
