The self-delusion of thinking he's got to take care of his family. The delusion of thinking in any sane world that he a) wasn't going straight to jail for murder and b) that his wife would ever let him NEAR her or her children ever again. I wonder if those two kids spoke to him ever again. The mindset of thinking you've got to take care of your family when you've done nothing but murder them. Unreal.

The ending is a masterpiece. It shows perfectly that these disgraceful traumatic events were just lost to history and a radio show where all the voices were white people and that they won ultimately. Its an ugly brilliant ending

3:22 I still have to wonder - is it for the child's sake that he's crying or his own? Is he unhappy that he has hurt someone he loved? Or is he unhappy because he has lost someone he loves?

it’s definitely a bit of both, like he regrets his life choices, but it’s definitely the fact he lost someone he loves

Loved it. I always give Mr. Martin Scorsese the benefit of the doubt. He's the only director that will get me off the sofa and put my ass in the theatre. I'm not disappointed. I thought the acting was superb, the cinematography was off the charts. I felt sometime like I was there. I caught myself wishing that Decrapio's character would just stop poisoning his wife, then I realized I was watching a Scorsese movie; he's going to show you the darkest sides of human beings. This move is right up there with There Will be Blood. I hope Marty continues to work. We need more stories like these on the big screen.

...he didn't come up with the story though as it's based on REAL events. So his choices were dictated by reality and not by his desire to show ''darkest sides of human beings''

I found DiCaprio astonishing in Killers Of The Flower Moon. It's such a radical against type performance, a role that John Cazale would have played in the 1970s and he nails every single scene. He's so committed and immersed in being this vile, dumb, uncharismatic, and spineless buffoon, and its one of his greatest, most grounded and most lived in performances ever. It's an absolute shame and shock that he was snubbed by the Academy and robbed of an Oscar nomination. It's a performance (and film) that will simply endure and have a lasting impact on everyone for years beyond this awards season of the moment.

I read an article that said the ending of this movie wasn’t impactful or a happy ending. But the reality of it is, that’s just life. The good guy doesn’t always win Justice isn’t always served. I mean sure King and Ernest served prison time but they both got out. Sure they didn’t do any more bad but by the sounds of it didn’t learn either. And as for Mollie that was the time unfortunately. May not be the ending the writer wanted but it makes the most sense given the time period.
@yevgeniyaleshchenko849

It makes sense because this is how it happened IN REAL LIFE, those characters and events are based on REAL people and real crimes... That was not writer's intention or decision, that was being true to history...

In real life the murders continued even after King went down. There are some Osage who believe he was just a fall guy for a much larger conspiracy and the true architects of the massacre were never caught.

The reality is there are countless murder plots that would make riveting movies throughout history yet all they are is a byline in a newspaper which is what I think the last scene of it being a radio drama is supposed to convey. You never think about the emotions and suffering of the people behind all these stories, they’re ultimately just names on a page, especially with the passage of time.

@sg5553 3 месяца назад
Well, see, it is based on a real story. It isn't anticlimactic if you have a brain and critical thinking skills. Some people just shouldn't watch movies other than Adam Sandler or some other crap that requires very little thought.

@sg5553 yikes, pretty harsh. Some people can't handle it when someone thinks differently than them about the ending to a movie and lash out like a toddler instead of keeping their unwanted opinions to themselves.
