Add that this is purely an idea at this point but I have a strong motivation to do this process on my own lawn at home which is profusely tangled with crabgrass, carpet grass, where is a various assortments etc. so I have truly enjoyed your videos and I look forward to purchasing your products as soon as I can to try to transform my own personal lawn.
weed free most of the summer but my pre-emergent is wearing off as i see spurge popping up. Season is almost done for me in south texas so im not going to really worry about it. Ill toss down more pre-emergent and get ready for fall/winter
Doc, you may be getting to the point where you might consider running a spring-tine dethatcher or vericutter more regularly. I'm not really a bermuda guy, but monthly or even weekly dethatching zoyisa works wonders. Managing turf grass is more like going to war with thatch.
Hey doc wanted to say thanks for everything you’ve done this year! My lawn was awful when we first bought the house last year, and your videos have been my saving grace! Front lawn is now almost perfect, and back still needs some work but it’s getting there. Im around Birmingham AL and was wondering if it’s too late this year to do this weed treatment(back lawn). If it’s not too late, any special additions you would recommend with it being later in the season? Thanks again!
I’ve taken over my lawn care this year and following your recommendations has my lawn looking by far the best it ever has! I ordered the Q4 herbicide but am a little concerned. I have some dallisgrass and chamberbitter coming up in the yard and neither of those appear on the list of weeds controlled on the Q4 label. I know you said there was some of that in the lawn you were taking over, and it appears that most all of the weeds are dying there. Do either of those fall under the “many more broadleaf weeds” category? If not, is there something else to use for those besides glyphosate that is safe for Bermuda? Also have some buffalo grass that is taking hold by my fence. Any recommendations? Thanks!
Hey Doc- I've can't order the Humichar or the PGF here in California on Amazon because of restrictions...was able to get the Preemergent and the Q4 though. Do you recommend something else for States that don't allow us to buy those products (other than moving:-)) ?
Doc!!! About to level, is this an ok time? My Bermuda sod laid back in February is where I want it, already scalped/hard cut twice since then, pgf complete, humichar since May/June, super juice in between, just got a used mclane reel mower-and brand new grooved roller to replace wheels in front, am I ok to level, I k ow I’ll need a couple applications, but now and pre spring or mid spring time?
I live in Southwest Florida and sedge and dollar weed has covered my st Augustine grass. Vendors will not send weed kill products here. Any ideas? The weed and feed products do not work.
I just got sod this spring & it was so green & gorgeous. Now it looks like the neighbor’s grass from a distance has yellow spots, & black looking spots that are mushrooms that have died. I live in a desert climate where it gets up to 115. I went from greenest to worst looking. I was told it was a slime mold that just happens with sod, & not over watering that I thought it was. There are a few tall weeds that look like corn stocks, but none right in the grass unless. Grass that looks like straw. Help1. I only have the mowers telling me.
, My name is Sterling and I run spectrum environmental pest management in California. I'd like to ask you a question about combining weed care and possibly grass care along with our pest control business. Do you know of any others in the pest control industry that do a combination of weed control with pest management? You've been a terrific resource and I greatly respect your craft. If you have an opportunity to respond and let me know I would be so grateful. We are trying to figure out a way to become more of a full-service service company. It would be wonderful perhaps even to talk to you sometime
My yards look like the Killings Field, I would like to do the same thing you did to it, but I have no clue what type of grass we have. I live in Central California. Doubt it's Bermuda, but I have no clue what it is...
Do you know the spray ratio of the spectracide weed stop bottle. Hose end of course.... Just asking since the bottles you offer or sponsor are out of stock
Hey Doc, I bought the Q4 and will be applying it this week. Is it ok to wait until Spring to spread the Pre-emergent since we are so close to the dormancy months (North Carolina)?
Great video series but I have a ? And hope your getting this cause i have ask ? Before with no reply. Is the weed killer recommend only if you have major weed problem cause I dont ( ok my nightmare Nutshed) lol or can i apply to keep weeds out from starting in fall and spring . Pryor planning prevents piss poor performance lol ya an old vet .
Hello. We're due for some nice rain this week, so I scalped the lawn and applied some WeedEx w/Halts. I'm curious if anyone knows whether or not the pre-emergent will have a negative reaction if I were to also apply a granular growth regulator?
Hey Doc, great series. I've started to follow you, im trying to salvaje my lawn for 2 years, and im a 1st time lawn guy. Do you have a way to send you some pico for some advise? Im in GA, Cumming
Doc, what would the Andersons growth regulator program look like for TTTF? I am south of Atlanta with a pretty dense canopy, but, I maintain a good stand until late summer just in time for overfeeding season.
Hey doc I'm on the page looking at the McLane I didn't catch which one is the easiest to maintain for regular homeowners. I would hate to have to back lap and completely ruin the reel mower.
Doc, do you have any advice on getting rid of moles? Over the past few weeks, moles have invaded my side yard, and this weekend one trenched in about a fourth of my backyard.
Your weather forecasters must be more accurate than mine. I can't cut mine shorter than 2" and I get some scalp marks then. I don't have your reel mowers
Doc I had tifway 419 sod put in 3 weeks ago but unfortunately I am starting to see clover in it. I'm concerned about using sprays since its so young, is there anything safe to use that wont damage the sod?
Hey Doc! Enjoy your videos and have bought many of the products you recommend. I’m on way to the perfect Bermuda due to your videos alone. I have a question in why the yards you show are not edged along the sidewalk and driveways. It really makes a difference in my yard and I know they would really pop if they had a good clean edge on your videos. My Bermuda looks awesome when I edge along the driveway and it may lead to another series. Maybe it’s my OCD but I think you could do a video on the proper edge! Thanks for all the hard work in putting these together! Rob Mac
I'm no expert but that green looks more like a fungal problem than anything. If you just overseeded and don't want to use a fungicide yet, experiment with a permethrin app.
CAUTION: ILLEGAL. after avidly studying Docs vids amd offering my own lawn treatments Ive learned florida does not allow ANY business to apply fertilizer or herbicide period. There are loopholes but do your research before you must pay a 3-5k fine. Only homeowners may buy these chemicals. Still possible to do treatments but very disappointed Doc has never mentioned this considering many of us are working for others
