This scene really helped me finally articulate my depression, because for so long I couldn't figure out why I was so unhappy. I had a nice life, a good job, loving family, and yet felt absolutely empty.

“I have real trouble telling the truth I don’t understand the concept actually But somebody told me it’s important so... Here goes Most of the time, most days, I feel... nothing I don’t feel anything It’s so boring I wake up and I think ‘Again? Really? I have to do this again?’ And what I really don’t understand is how come everybody else isn’t screaming wi-with boredom too... I... try to find ways of making myself feel something more and more and more but... doesn’t make any difference No matter what I do I don’t feel anything I... hurt myself, doesn’t hurt I buy what I want, I don’t want it I do what I like, I don’t... I’ve never watched this show, so I have no idea of her context. But I came across the quote, and was obsessed. This is what depression feels like. What being sober feels like when you’ve only been clean for 4 months. This is perfect

She is a psychopath and is describing what we feel in the everyday life, which is pretty similar to a depression, just imagine it across your entire life

Where I do agree that psychopaths have a tendency to fulfill their desires and even after having done that they have this hunger inside them which demands more. They just can't have enough but a Normal brain somewhat functions that way too...maybe not that aggressively but when you have something you craved for the outcome isn't exactly what you had imagined and that makes me you reconsider if you even wanted it in the first place. They are both on different scales thou...

Hafsa XVI it’s all about satisfying your wants. If you had the ability to satisfy every desire you had the minute you had it, that would be absolute hell. It fosters a numbness inside of you, born out of perpetual contentment. Real, lasting happiness comes from connection, not the satisfaction of materialistic wants or quenching your physical needs. If those things were the only things that made up your life, it would be good..... for a time, but like I said earlier “perpetual contentment will grow and evolve into just a feeling of nothingness” this all stems from just the simple fact that humans, given enough time and lack of change, can get used to anything, for better or for worse. That’s why so many people stuck in dead-end jobs feel like they wanna kill themselves sometimes. It’s because their life is at a standstill. And not even a good one. It’s the changes in our life that give us enjoyment. Think of your life as a song. If your life song only contained a single not at some point and that note was stretched on for days, minutes, even years, then it’s not even music anymore. It’s just noise. Noise noise noise. Now, apply that metaphor to an unchanging life. If you follow that path, then it’s not even like you’re living anymore. You’re just existing.

@@hafsaxvi4027 i think it has something to do with not getting enough dopamine, or more likely being addicted to getting more dopamine without knowing the endpoint. some of us are just looking for fulfillment without even knowing what fulfillment means. we have this idea that if we get this thing we'll be happier. when we actually do get this thing we aren't satisfied, we want more and more and more, it's an endless cycle. that's why we get bored, bored of living. we are all yearning for something that we don't even know what

I think here bored=nothing=empty. like why tf is she even here. What difference does any of it make, life's so boring she'd rather die than do it again everyday but death isn't coming and due to relativity of time it feels like an infinite period of emptiness and no cure. That's pretty depressing so she's crying, coz she wants to feel something and doesn't know how.
