I love this game. It was the game I used you play with my older brother before he died. One of the only ways we could connect, as we were very different in nature. Still miss playing, but man is it hard mentally to play it alone now.

Glad to see a series I've been playing since 2009 is getting some love. I'm one of those Hell on Earth vets and it's amazing when everybody in your group is equally skilled. Hoping KF3 brings us back the good vibes of KF1.

I used to play killing floor at my cousins house every thanksgiving cause he had a computer in the basement so around night time, I would ask him to unlock it and I would just play it on his pc for hours. It was my first zombie game outside the COD franchise and I loved it.

UT2004 was a huge part of my childhood. This game was originally a mod for it and multiplied my love for it. My dad surprised me with it on our PC, good memories

worth it full price, this game has some of the most addictive gunplay and leveling along with a kickass soundtrack.

I heard that the devs recorded guns shooting at 1000 or more fps. This allowed them to accuratly represent how a gun looks when shot slow-mo. Also as you said, the hitbox detection is very good and killing just soooooo satisfying

We were doing a hell on earth map once and at the start of the very last round our buddy just walked away from the computer and he was the berserker and we all got killed. Didn't speak for like 2 months

I used to play KoF alot in my teens. It was my friend group's go-to coop game. As a 30 year old KoF veteran I can say you developed 6th sense when playing Hell on Earth. You had to understand the AI algorithm of of each zed so you could predict the future in game. Count seconds when FP would rage and know how to reset it. We all played enough KoF that we were able to solo HoE with faked 6 players. A friend of mine even did it with medic. It took hours but he did it.

Not sure if it got left out or if they finally went the way of the dinosaur, but the modded servers are where it became something else (To me at least). If anyone's interested in booting it up, the modded servers are done through plugins, so you won't have to spend an hour checking a mod list.

Dude I was literally just watching your GTFO video the other day and wondering to myself if you'd ever make a Killing Floor video because it seems right up your alley. Holy shit. It's so nice seeing Killing Floor get the love and attention it deserves all this time later. I'm one of said veteran KF players with hundreds of hours in both games and literally grew up playing the first one on my shitty office laptop that could hardly run any games but could *juuuuust* handle KF on minimum settings. This game will always be so incredibly nostalgic and sentimental to me and is definitely responsible for my love of zombie and horde shooter games from then on. Can't wait for the KF2 video, it's gone on to be one of my favorite games of all time and I actually managed to surpass my KF1 hours over the years by my sheer addiction to that game when it came out.

For anyone looking, theres a mutator that seems to be in the vanilla game that you can activate in your own matches that unlocks all DLC weapons for free.

When I 1st played the 1st killing floor game years ago, I went *"holy shit I go ABSOLUTE HAM on those zeds"* . Alone, mind you; as I was playing it in a computer shop. I went rip & tear back in mid 2010s And my memorable highlight when taking on a patriarch every final encounter? Using a LAW & duking it out. Throw in the Beretta pistol as it's the only other weapon you can carry. Fun times

Thanks Bricky for making a video of an all-time favorite! Loved to play the tanky medic and throw myself at fleshpounds and scrakes, and the support specialist with an AA12 has a special place in my heart. And don't get me started on the soundtrack. So many good memories with this game.

The starting 9mm pistol from this game has literally never been beaten, in terms of a satisfying starter weapon. The iron sights are amazing, and the SOUND. Good lord it's PERFECT.

Anyone here old enough to remember this started as a UT2004 mod? When I played, it had like three populated servers and it was a really tight-knit community. Good times.

I managed one (see: 1) Hell on Earth play through on long, with friends, and only by the skin of our teeth while being carried. Yes, one dude was carrying a team through Hell on Earth. Fucker was back running through the level without missing a beat or hitting a wall. KF players are just insane. Gotta be that Unreal Tournament blood.

I grew up playing killing floor 1 and 2. Even if parents didn’t like it I would always sneak and play my dads copy of killing floor 1. Classic games.

I got KF1 for free when I got KF2 on pc. They are great games especially with the gunplay, always a great laugh to use a boomstick to blast away a fleshpound or skrake, best times.

For my oldies that catwalk callout in WaW hit hard. In between rounds running to the box or perks covering each other....memories

I always loved the more grungy vibe that KF1 did and KF2 for me feels more polished if that makes sense? Been playing more of KF1 while we wait for KF3.

Yup, so fucking accurate. 33 yo here. Played Hell on Earth in solo and co-op. Maxed all perks (except Medic because NHS sucks) and said "Ok, almost five years of this game is enough." Now I wanna play it again. Thanks for the nostalgia punch in the gut, Thicc Brick.

I put in a good few hundred hours into killing floor back then, I forgot it looks so decent as I'm used to the sequel's visuals now.

been playing killing floor 1 with my friends all month. wild its getting another game and plenty of peoples eyes on it.

Often times the problem is not having friends, not having ones that play video games but having friends that want to play games like this. Either they don't like shooters or like only competitive shooters...

I enjoyed KF1 way more having played both, something about the darker atmosphere and more tactical feel to finding good positions and making sure you and your teammates are within helping distance if something were to go horribly wrong.

Killing floor 4 was just announced, and as someone who's never played it, it looks awesome

the OG Devs at TW were all gun nuts. A LOT of care and attention went into the feel of the guns and the gunplay. For KF2 they literally took high-framerate motion capture data of the IRL guns to make ZedTime better. It's gun pornography

Killing floor & killing floor 2 on the lower difficulties is the most laidback yet still fun & intense experience you can have with friends.😊

After 350+ hours of killing Zeds I got kinda bored with KF2 and even less with KF1, but I'm still hyped for KF3 coming out whenever. I still highly recommend KF2 if you liked Black Ops 1's zombies mode. The gore alone is worth it.

Killing Floor 1 and 2 Crossbows are my FAVORITE PROJECTILE WEAPON IN ALL OF GAMING. My Most Beloved of all My Beloveds, if you will. Also, all the classes are completely viable and Based as hell in both games. I’ve only finished half the maps of KF1 Hell On Earth solo and like less than a third in KF2 Hell on Earth solo (I ran outta steam). I never sweated so hard in my life on those maps, and I’m still not ready to go back to KF1. The game expects max class level and a lot out of you on Hell on Earth, but it’s not inhumanly impossible. I went through like 4 $10-$20 mice and a $25 keyboard for KF1 and wore down a PS4 controller quite a bit for KF2 until I stopped playing them… my friends only play Civ6 and Halo, and don’t want to give these fantastic games a chance :(

I played the classic one man the amount of dlc was crazy but man it was fun

Both KFs are great, great community as well. I can't think of many games where a team will wait for like 10+ minutes waiting to respawn the next round, spectating the sole surviving high level medic out running the last few big zeds slowing chipping away at their health. Willing that person on, hoping they don't trap themselves in a corner or heal at the wrong time!

Tripwire's a strange dev. They make realistic tactical mp shooters most of the time, but every now and then go nuts with the Not Zombies of Killing Floor.

Sigh, time to reinstall the game again and get wildly addicted for a few weeks until the next time I stumble on a video about it.

Killing Floor 1 is probably the only game of the two (now three I guess) where the fleshpound actually feels threatening, despite being easier to kill as not as fast as KF2's. I think I can chalk it up to the voice lines they make. Really all of KF1 feels more like a survival horror game than "wacky woohoo zed killer 2" because of the perfect sound design.

It was 2009, not 1999. Gun sounds a lot of stuff was perfected back in 2002 at most.

Killing Floor 2 is even better. Also the best thing about TripWire is they're all a bunch of gun nuts (some are ex military and law enforcement), so they obsess over making the the guns and gunplay as realistic and satisfying as possible.

As Killing Floor 1 is my favorite game, I am so glad a well-known RU-vidr has made a proper video covering the game and giving it the passion and love that is deserves. If anyone is reading this and considering buying the game, try it out! It's so incredibly fun and if you're an achievement hunter like me, it's a bitch to grind, but well worth it (After 1k hours, I finally got 100%'d the game!). Thank you for making an in-depth video on KF1 and giving it some well-needed love! DOSH!
