I save Parmesan containers and put DE in them, they shake really well from them with good control!

It's not recommended to use barehanded- especially if it's not food grade. While it's not toxic, the fine powder can dry out and irritate the skin so gloves are recommended as well as a mask to prevent inhalation of the powder which can irritate lung tissue.

As someone else mentioned, always wear a protective face mask when applying the diatomaceous earth, as the silica will cause damage to your lungs - your pets lungs. It should not be applied when there is any wind, and not from above. I would use gloves, and rinse them after use. I would wet-mop my shoes, and remove and wash clothing. I once used diatomaceous earth - food grade - in the house for fleas - and did it stupidly, because everyone kept saying "just use it." Normally, I would have done my own research, but was in a panic. (NEVER do anything when in that kind of mental state). I suffered breathing problems for months - and don't even remember if there were fewer fleas.

Why not mix it in water and spray it then? From what I hear, when the water evaporates, the DE remains on where ever it was sprayed on and does its job of killing insects.

how long after the tick gets dusted with DE will it kill the tick or slow them down ? if they can crawl thru it and still live a while to get on you and bite well that bites no pun intended, Peace !

Fly mosquito traps work. Bathe moment come in not later. Then shower. Fan if sets off smoke alarm

I'm pretty sure you can. You just need to find the hidden chest that contain 5lb bags. You can also add them into your rocket ammo for better dispersion, but Gjallarhorn would be better though.

You should be very careful when using it, because inhaling it is very dangerous for your lungs.. it can hurt you very bad as it coats the langus.. It is important to recognize the benefits of such material while understanding its nature and uses and minimizing its risks.. everything has a risk in life!

Well everyone should have a facemask by now, use that and you will most likely be ok. I've used this on my carpet before for fleas and to such a degree that my feet were dusty for days before I vacuumed. It did cause irritation, but once you grind it in and clear the air it's not too bad. Outdoors, with natural airflow, should be even more safe.

Why can't we kill bees? They actually aren't as important as you might think, we have many other pollinators such as beetles, sweat bees, ect ect

Hey happy! You don't need to worry about that. www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_id=22720&p_table=INTERPRETATIONS "A Group 3 listing indicates that diatomaceous earth is not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans" Anyone using it should not inhale large amounts of the dust, as that would be just like inhaling any foreign particle and could damage your lungs. The main concern some had about it was silicosis (lung damage), and I imagine that would only apply to people who work in the mining of diatom deposits or other industrial applications. Diatomaceous earth perfectly safe for skin contact. :)
