THE crowds at Kilmurry House, near Thomastown for the viewing of the
18th century mansion's contents, which go under the hammer on Monday
and Tuesday, were testament to the interest in the auction.
There was a fair share of curious locals, many of whom told 32.ie that
they had never been inside the house before, however, there was a large
quota of collectors and dealers too.
The catalogue listed items which any interested person could happily
take home as a memento of the great house, but also had its share of
antiques for the serious buyer.
Antiques, pictures, prints, sculptures, Irish maps, Persian rugs,
glass, ceramics, oriental art, a collection of classic cars and object
d'virtu make up the lots for auction between about 10am and 6pm on
Monday (12 July) and Tuesday (13 July) with a break for lunch each day
between 1 and 2pm.
