The comments was a musical one. If the piano is in harmony with the voice the piano doesn't wait it is hand and hand with the voice. The look was given and because the individual wasn't musically listening she said it in a nice way - trust me a lot of singers would have told the person to leave and they would sit down and sing and play... She actually "sang" the exact keys for him to play. 😮 Ssheee was 👍🏾 right...
We tend to judge people easily while we are mere men and not God. You don't know the heart she's singing with. God might be smiling in heaven enjoying her musical arts, I guess you know David in the bible was musically skilled too, and God liked it. It was a special presentation and not a worship song. Where else should she do this?? In night club??

You are correct! A friend of mines That's a guitarist stated that a lot of instrumentalists don't like singers because they are at the forefront.What they don't realize is that the singer and instrumentalist is suppose to have a harmonic bond.The whole point of instruments is to compliment the singers voice!
Nothing wrong with this, many singers correct musicians who seem to be in a hurry to rush singers. Especially church musicians. Some of them don't really like playing.

To the extent that one can, one should do their due diligence to ensure that the intent matches the impact and perception is that bridge between the two. So if really doesn’t matter if it actually isn’t the case. If it is perceived to be the case, then that what is real to others and that leaves a negative impression that now has to be dealt with.
Nobody needs to hear her rebuke the musicians. She can direct the musicians with her hands, head, or voice without interrupting the flow of the Word in song.
True professionals know how to direct the musicians so smoothly and seamlessly that the audience usually can't tell. Kim Burrell has NOTHING right, including her relationship with the Lord.
She didn’t even sound that good. I suppose she wanted him to go the major 6th at one point and he didn’t so she told him to wait a moment and he will hear where she is going. Even the best jazz musicians have a little trouble following non-verbal cues at every now and then. He sounded fine except for that one slight clash. Not the end of the world.
She practices and embodies EXCELLENCY, and she believes in correction right then and there! There is a soul that needs to be touched but if your going to be out of order God's work can't be done to the fulfillment. Imagine martin Luther King not delivering his whole message and not in the rhythm or entirety it wouldn't have the effect.
I was going to say this same thing. She even said TO the LGBT community, if they support her so much why she never went platinum!? I thought that was tacky. I can handle her doing this correction since she's a musician. But what I don't understand why she just didn't play for herself. Then she could've made sure the music was together with her.
Honestly I’ve rarely seen her play for herself. She usually is accompanied by the local musician or sings without it. Which she did on the 2nd song. Go to my channel and check it out. She straight up killed!!
How is she going to play for herself if she is there to worship? He has a job to do and that would be expected to be done no matter who he is playing for. He needs to be on key.
Maybe she could have been a bit more tactful about it, but as a singer, if you are singing a song with an open arrangement like this, if the musician is following too closely or jumping ahead it can ruin your ability to perform the as you intend to. Kim Burrell might be a little snappy, but I see nothing wrong with her letting the musician know what she needed...and she said it in key at that.... lol.
All she kindly said was "If you wait on me we'll be TOGETHER." In other words, she had NO issue with the keyboardist's sound; it was just the execution. He kept "jumping the gun" a bit, assuming where she was going NEXT. It's fairly common among younger musicians and is USUALLY fine. However... Kim Burrell doesn't sing that WAY, as she is extremely creative by nature. So In most cases you HAVE to wait on her. That's all🤷🏿♂

I am a singer, not a musician but I know he was not backing her up. It sounded like he was doing a piano performance and we needed to stop everything to listen to him. She was modulating and changing keys and he was busy tickling the ivory. Hmm.. The move of God can be affected by things like this. The musician accompanies the soloist! Because at the end you like what you're hearing and will over look the shenanigans, just like most of the people complain about certain artist behavior. Her personality aside she I-S an instrumentalist at heart. She knows where she is at all times. She’s feeding him the percussion through her passing riffs and talking with the baseline. Her body language before she said ANYTHING shows the pace. She is an organ within herself you don’t have to give her fillers. When the maestra says wait you wait. Read the body language!

The Bible also says to know them that labor among you. You dnt need a "practice session " to know how yo glow & that I follow the singer. If you knw a guest singer or preacher is coming; look up videos or something. He was terrible bottom line.
When she turned around and looked that was the sign to get thier behind together. Also her mic is not balanced at all but... She knows how to adjust her voice...the sound people had the piano louder than her mic and a slight echo on her mic but she knew how to just.

Well perhaps maybe in my younger 20s I would be embarrassed then maybe not, but definitely now in my mid to late 40s, I’ll take it with a grain of salt. and interact with her and give her what she’s asking for and create a positive moment out of it.if all possible.
She said ‘wait on me when we together’ as in when Im singing and youre accompanying if I decide to carry a note or run you need to embellish, stop playing, something. Not continue through the song. Basically he was getting ahead of her and in this instance I think she was justified.
